  1. What would be a good time (‘ish) to watch at PH?
  2. The weed filter on Chiltern Lady is also in a cupboard, under the floor. Glad I was shown by NYA on buying the boat…😎
  3. Gave you a wave on the Thurne. I was heading back to the home mooring, fed up with the rain…😎
  4. Tonight moored at How Hill, have seen a few members heading downstream. Sorry not to be attending, but have a prior engagement on Sunday at 16.00 hours…⚽️😎⚽️
  5. I think Everett Marine Services based at Gt Yarmouth handle most incidents around Breydon in the first instance…😎
  6. Kept it warm for you mid-week…
  7. My Dad and his family used to come to Norfolk from London and hire a sailing boat. It’s what started his love for the Norfolk Broads. After service in WW 11 his employer (Duckham’s Oil) asked where he would like to be based and he chose Norfolk.
  8. Mmm… good to see that recycling is being incorporated. I wonder how they can enforce “boat waste” only. Over the years I’ve seen plenty of non “boat waste” dumped there. Come to think of it that also applies to Reedham…😎

    Maycraft

Maycraft do pumpouts, but i dont think they serve fuel…😎
  10. I can’t get my boat anywhere near “my local friendly farmer’s” oil tank…
  11. Boulters Marine Services, Horning were £1.49 per litre on Friday 18th March 2022
  12. I said hello to Lulu at Ranworth last night. I moored t’other side of the dinghy dyke and put a leccy card on post with .03, .05, or .00 on! This morning I saw Luna Aurora leave and decided to forgo my .52 left on the post and move to CC’s favourite spot, planning to cut and polish the port side. Bad news, too wet to work, good news there was .52 left on the post. Result!! Further result a mate rang to see if I wanted a pint at lunchtime. Met him in the cosy Maltsters for a couple of Ghost Ships.
  13. Yep, Langley I believe…

    Tides

I went to the boat today as materials for my building project at home failed to turn up. I had some jobs to do onboard and decided by lunchtime i should do a river trial! Only went as far as a deserted Womack Island. A breezy, but sunny day. Hope to be out properly next week…😎
  15. What particular electrical problems do you have in mind?
  16. Oh, okay sorry. I was going by the list of the Norfolk Association of local councils which lists Horning as a parish council not a town council. Live and learn…😎
  17. I would have liked some coverage of the broads - Salhouse, Malthouse and South Walsham all big parts of the River Bure…😎
  18. Mmmm… just watched it. As usual slightly disappointed. Started in Aylsham in a canoe and next stop Belaugh, what happened to Coltishall? Obviously Wroxham is featured, then Wroxham Broad and Horning (now a town!). Good to see some sedge cutting before arriving at St Benet’s. The iconic wherries were mentioned detailing the trade between Yarmouth and the towns of Aylsham and Norwich(!). As the road signs say “Welcome to Norwich a Fine Town”. The Thurne mill was an interesting stop and that was that, no Acle and beyond…😎
  19. I’ve got a pair - never used if you are interested…😎
  20. Yes, sometimes on the lowest setting, but the downside is the clicking of the fuel pump which is located in the engine bay to the stern of the main cabin…☹️
  21. Just back home from a few days out and about. Cold and bright days, freezing nights with heavy frosts. Thank goodness for the Planar 4Kw from Autoterm, kept the inside between 15 and 20 degrees. Have to admit I did sleep fully clothed one night though…🥶… don’t ask…😎🤫
  22. You’re not TANYA then , from Tanya batteries…😎
  23. A couple of years ago I was in the same position with the Webasto on Chiltern Lady. Tom at JPC serviced it and it worked for a while, but he couldn’t get the gasket kit the next time. We plumped for the 4Kw Russian made Planar from Autoterm and have been really pleased with it’s performance. It is a pretty good match for all the existing fittings….😎
  24. Now I get Chiltern Lady lifted, and anti-fouled every three years. Used to do it every two, but was advised by the yard (!) that it was overkill…😎
