  1. That is a brilliant film thank you both Carol and Vaughn for that film, really terrific.
  2. Yes a first for me too Doug look at the far end of the moorings and that is us all nine of us on SP. and three dogs. Mum Lulu and Rocky
  3. We have gone for the same system as Regulo but we have used a Mikuni boiler, cheaper the the other two. Broad Ambition uses a Mikuni, he seems happy with it.
  4. They did some filming in the summer.Eric and his family son and daughter plus two of their friends had a holiday on the Broads. The son the daughter and the two friends were on Lady Christina for the day around Horning reliving some of their memories. I am not sure when it is due ti air, I will attempt to find out.
  5. We have a 500mm domestic cooker complete with electric ignition which needs the inverter on to operate, we also have a domestic sized shoreline fridge capacious and very good. Incidentally the cooker came with the necessary jets and has a glass lid which acts as a flame cut off as well. Some over zealous BSS inspectors wont allow a cooker unless it actually states in the cooker bumf that it can be used on a boat. Go figure.
  6. Ask nicely and you may well get a lift back, we certainly used to do that.
  7. Last I knew was a few years ago she belonged to a fellow who posted a lot on here Jonny. or at least his family. I suspect they sold her.
  8. Hi Socrates We had new cabin sides fitted by Martham, these were in two halves joined at the forward end of the cockpit. I forget the width of the wood but the photo will give you some idea.
  9. I agree with all you comments Howard. The fish and chips I had was very good. A hug + in my book proper home made Tatar sauce, this defines an establishment to me going that extra step. Whilst being mostly very good under the previous regime this return to a village pub in my view is great. I hope it works for them I really do. A very rare photo of me circa 1982 soon after taking over the Ship.

  11. Only two I know of are Clive himself or Adam at Little Ships. I will make enquiries.
  12. Great job. I know the pain but she does look good. We have a Parsons Pike lump 2.7 litre 4 cylinder. It runs, is huge and noisy but very economical. So for the time being the lump stays. Keep up the good work lovely boats.
  13. Somewhere I have a photo of Enchantress stuck under Potter Bridge, in the Leo Robinson days I guess. Did any other boat yard have her while she was on the Broads ?
  14. Quite definitely Acle an d quite definitely a Powles Craft. I holidayed on a Caribbean ONCE, my father took my wife and the kids on holiday, he paid so he chose. The saving grace was Guinness had recently bought F.B. Wilds and the fridge had a fair amount of product placement.
  15. I was at a do the other day and there was a quiz. You guess there was a Broads NP question, from around the room there were calls that the Broads is not a NP. The quizmaster was adamant that it was because he had the information direct from Google. There fore it must be right.
  16. Hi Robin I come a bit late to the party. I am certainly no expert but these are the bits we used on SP although not the Dutch barge sized one. On recommendation from the agent who incidentally was a member on here we used the smallest heater and we had the integral water heating boiler as well , redundancy being the idea. Regrettably I cannot tell you how efficient it is as it is STILL not plumbed in, but that is another story. http://www.mikuniheating.com/HotWater_DutchBarge.cfm http://www.mikuniheating.com/Results.cfm?category=27&secondary=15
  17. Thanks Boycee I did wonder, maybe I will bump into him then.
  18. Not wanting to hi jack Colin and Lou's thread and not being clever enough to think of a different title here is another. Some of you may remember the Thames estuary pilot who used to post on here, he put up some fascinating insights into this subject. I have not mentioned his name because as usual I am struggling to sift through the gunge that is my memory. So the question is where has he disappeared to?
  19. The Albert still spends the summer at NBYC and Brooms in the winter. She is still owned by the Mackintosh family their son Ben is the present custodian.
  20. Good to hear from you. I often wondered how you were all getting on.
  21. Dependence possibly ? John you just beat me to it.
  22. Robin I am very excited for you, I really hope everything is plain sailing. The very best of luck.
