  1. Show your resolve and reverse in (skilfully avoiding the fishermen). Then much easier to get out when you've had a beer or 3 in the White Horse (when it's open of course) been there, got T shirt etc
  2. Depends so much on the quality of the charging and battery systems, and maintenance of same. Never hired from Ferry so can't comment specifically but I'd certainly expect the heating to run for several hours without the engine.
  3. Just a thought - Lorraine (landlady of the Dog Inn) had, I assume still does (not seen her for a while) has a printing business and has the faciility to do complex embroidered patterns. She did me a very nice replica Tipples T shirt a while back. Her business is Absolute Signs. She may be able to do a pennant, used to doing work for boatyards. Might be worth giving her a bell. I do believe the Dog itself is closed but she does (did) work on the premises.
  4. I think the draughts issue particularly around the canopy depends a lot on the build quality and maintenance. They should have dense brushes in the gaps to stop draughts. Swan Radiance was excellent in this regard as is Humber Bridge. I would imagine radiators take a little longer to heat up but will no doubt maintain the heat longer. I'm sure you'll be fine. We've done about 12 years February breaks on the trot in Alphacrafts and never been cold.
  5. Looks like an Alphacraft Simon, solid choice. It should go under the bridges and be warm too. Good one for a winter boat.
  6. Mrs Nog would definitely have one of those Grace!
  7. Fine thanks Jean (apart from the above)!! hope you are too and enjoying your new home. We'd have definitely been up your way. Yes, shame Mr Fire sir, never mind - we'll just have to see how things develop but i would like to get afloat again if possible before the madness starts all over again.
  8. Too right Jean - this Forum is very prone to drift (well now and again) (and again) I'm gutted because tomorrow we had arranged to pick up the boat from Bridgecraft for our December afloat and now its not going to happen I think it will be the first December we've missed for about 15 years
  9. Yep, couldn't agree more. Here in flat hat land pubs are shut but we can join the throng for the shops. Defies logic.
  10. Yarmouth does have its good points - the Red Herring, the Barking Smack and the Mariners Mind you you'd need to change at Brundall from your gaff JM The route via the Berney Arms is very scenic.
  11. This is the one I think. Badged as Dream Time at DRL.
  12. Electric posts are now in apparently
  13. Great pics - many thanks for sharing. We hired one of those Aston Concord class once - nice boats. Just trying to place the wreck that Fireman Sam alludes to - on the Yare somewhere I assume?
  14. It's not protocol to reveal members mooring locations but can we assume that the Swan and the Grebe will be seeing a surge in trade (when they are allowed to open of course)
  15. Moved!!! And yes of course I have, makes a welcome relief.
  16. Thought it had been very quiet of late.................. ............and have you?
  17. I'd love to be out before then but can't see it happening. First December outing I will have missed for many years Still, something to look forward to eh?
  18. In any event I'd refer to him as Johnson. Wasn't Boris a spider?
  19. Don't know if this will work. And if you lot get on about politics again be careful!
  20. ....plus it's a bit tight at Boulters if memory serves. I'm sure you could get a 42 foot in of course but a tad tight squeeze I suspect. Plus very busy in summer! Only drawback with Stalham is that it can freeze in winter.
  21. I wouldn't disagree - It's a while since I did it, about a mile from memory. I didnt have any great problems with traffic as I recall although one needs to be careful of course. I've heard a lot of good reports about the Star at Lessingham but that would be a taxi job unless you're Fireman Sam of course
  22. Can't speak for Fireman Sam but sadly not. I did go to have a look for it once after a reccomendation from Mr Meantime if I remember correctly. I think it's quite near Richardsons but over the other side of the main road. Not sure if they sell any beer or not or if you need to be a member or anything. If anyone does find out I'd be very interested to know. My own personal choice is the Swan as they sell real ale. The Grebe was all keg although I seem to think Fireman Sam did say there was some beer on when he visited last. Harnser is a nice pub, bit of a walk, Sutton Staithe further still but worth it particularly to work up a thirst. I've also walked to the Ingham Swan from Stalham but again a decent hoof. But yes, I'd be interested to hear about the holiday park.
  23. I'm more into vintage electronics so I might be talking rubbish - but my theory is that an analogue signal (like old radio) can be boosted because it is weak but all there if that makes sense. Digital however is basically a binary signal so it's either there or it isn't. That's why you get the 'Norman Collier' effect with DAB radio etc. In other words if a signal is not there or bits missing it can't be boosted. As usual more than happy to be shot down, just a theory
  24. Don't worry PD they've all been on something this week.......... ......wish they'd tell me what
  25. It could be worse seeing as it's so quiet in Pontypandy at the moment!
