  1. Bridgecraft have won a Hoseasons Diamond finalist award for outstanding service. Very well deserved IMHO - excellent yard who really do put the customers first! Here is Stephanie in true festive spirit proudly showing off the plaque.
  2. Good question Neil. Might be one for JM or Carol
  3. Geldeston Locks (nicked from Twitter)
  4. Try and get in quick before Fireman Sam Only 2 Broads pubs I can think of have Sky Sports - kings Arms and Sutton Staithe - don't think it's KA - Sutton Staithe at a guess
  5. Ah, thanks Ian. Probably best to follow JM and Fred's suggestion. From memory there's only room for maybe 3 boats there - not such a problem in winter but it could do to be sorted out. I'll have to moor at the Bell then
  6. They seem to turn a blind eye in winter but even so it seems a long time to be stuck there. Is it tolled did you notice?
  7. I'll second that. Got mine from Brian Wards - not sure if they still have any in stock. Might be worth asking if you're interested.
  8. Nah, he's just trying to crack on he's younger than he really is M
  9. Oddly everything this end is fine. No problems at all Must be either the wet string Internet here in flat cap land or that my IT is as old as me
  10. Welcome to the Forum. Quality Swancraft boat, solid choice
  11. Aw bless, thanks for posting. Sad loss. Very entertaining indeed and played a great role opposite my namesake.
  12. I agree. A good boat with good heating usually does the trick. Swancraft really did set the standard. That's very true, there is the sociabilty aspect too. Mrs Nog always has dog treats in her bag and everyone has more time to chat to you in winter which they couldn't do in summer. Plus it supports pubs which might close otherwise. That's my excuse anyway
  13. Time to visit the pub Jean! Good to hear your thoughts Simon. The fuel used was good. Quiet rivers are a big bonus and it least you got some sun. Sorry you found it a bit cold though. It's probably similar to what we would expect in December. It's usually colder in February! We've never plugged in and never been cold. We do spend some time in the pub but also go for 'flat' Alphacrafts which always seem warmer. As I've mentioned before I tend to get up in the morning, whack the kettle and heating on and go back to bed for 10 minutes. Very interesting to get others take on it though, many thanks for the feedback.
  14. Yep have a good trip back Simon and many thanks for taking us with you so to speak. Look forward to your thoughts!
  15. Looking forward to hearing about your last day Simon Any thoughts about November cruising?
  16. I took Boycee to mean that it would extend the public moorings Simon, but I could be wrong, I usually am!!!! Oh, and top marks to Freedom!
  17. Hope you're enjoying the Ferry Simon, I also agree, superb pub, one of our must visits. Love the photos, you certainly have had some sun today!! Those posts are for private moorings as Alan says. I'm not quite sure why they are there, not to prevent mooring I don't think. I wonder if its to assist boats that moor bow first, maybe with outboards?? I've often wondered.
  18. Yep, definitely looks like it - BSR 3 speed and definitely 4 track. Nice machine, would have cost a few bob back in the day. It may work but as with all vintage gear best to carry out some basic checks before plugging it in. Smoothing capacitors likely to need reforming at least. Tape was quite expensive back then so always a temptation to use the slower speeds although the 7 1/2 ips would give the best quality at the expense of less recording time.
  19. That would be a very nice machine Paul Pity you had to let it go. That's exactly right, main problem is the drive belts which stretch, deteriorate or turn to sticky jelly depending on the machine. The rubber idlers can be a problem too. Otherwise they often need just a good clean and lube to get them going again. In this digital age many are probably gathering dust in attics. But you can't beat the sound of classic vintage technology
  20. Looks a bit like an ex Aston? We hired one once, Aston Concorde I think it was.
  21. Hurry up and report back Simon, please!!
  22. It looks to be a TD2 deck Paul. You're right, most were single speed (3 3/4 ips) but there were 3 speed variants I believe. If Ted's tapes are recorded at 1 7/8 ips it could be tricky but not un-sumountable.
  23. Don't let Fireman Sam lead you astray HG!
