Oh dear Plan B? No trains, ice, whatever next. Beccles by Boat? You know what they say (whoever they are) If you want to make God smile - make a plan.

What a good idea, have you been reading the tea leaves again to know it was going to freeze?

Was just going to reply when my desk top decided to restart and download 3 huge updates. What do they say patience is a virtue, think that one passed me by somehow. Do you remember being a kid and waking up to ice on the inside of the windows. I can, I used to grab my clothes and get dressed in the bed it was that cold, even the glass of water on my bedside cabinet used to freeze. The frost used to have such pretty patterns. Jack Frost.

Morning - just catching up with your posts Howard. Gosh you are both brave. Never known it so cold as this. Glad you are now out and about and not frozen in. You are much better off where the tide flow is greater. Your photos are magic and capture winter on the Broads just perfectly. It is a shame we have lost The Wherry Web Cam otherwise we could have seen you at OB.
  5. You can get tablets and cream for that you know.
  6. Come on its only a game of football!!!

Hello Howard, are you going to go South this time?
  9. Be careful out there , hubby went a.rse over tip this morning while just going out to the bin. One minute it was raining and the next it froze solid. Thank heavens no broken bones.
  10. What is it about the expression 'works Christmas' that leaves me feeling cold. I always hated them and could not wait to get away. Yes I am the Christmas grinch when it comes to office Christmas get togethers.
  11. What happened to global warming and warmer winters!!!! Hope everyone is winterised.
  12. You must have posh phones because I think mine just takes photos and videos and that's your lot. I find that I use my phone far more than the camera which is heavy to carry around which is a Nikon D3200.
  13. Thank you Jean. Lovely photos, what is your camera?
  14. What is it about people and twin tubs and spin driers, when my old Mum in law passed we had to clear her loft, It was like a spin drier and twin tub museum. Hubby's Dad always put them in the loft when they conked out because they might come in handy one day. What the devil for I cannot think. How did we get from Disposable Meat Foil Trays to spin driers. I do think we ought to get out more.
  15. Its all your fault Grace - just put a couple of bottles in the fridge for tonight's match. .
  16. Well as they say "what goes on behind closed doors - stays behind closed doors" I am sure our neighbours think we are Greek!!! Probably completely wrong but I pronounce Miele Meelay. Some people say Meeler. Bit like Porche being pronounced Porsh or Porsher.
  17. I thought that was written in the marriage ceremony. "Thou shalt empty the dishwasher every morning and make your good lady a cup of tea".
  18. Going back to dishwashers, I have a Miele and this has a tray at the top. It slides over to one side to allow for tall stemmed glasses to be stacked on the top basket shelf. So no problem with the cutlery. However, the burning question of the day is - who empties the darn thing. Ok stacking it but emptying it and putting it all away , it is another ball game.
  19. And that was really their only failing, had not been to the Charm School when speaking to customers. Never rude just very matter of fact , once you knew Colin and his crew your realised it was just their way but I wasnt that keen.
  20. Judging by the age of the driver I would imagine he has been doing this for years. I used to work for a lady boss who daily went out boozing and drove back to work p####d as a fart. It wasn't until after I had left that I heard she had been at long last caught by the police , her licence taken away and to boot was sacked because being a very good actress she could portray that she was the bees knees at her job and any faults were never hers because she blamed everyone else but new bosses soon got the measure of her. There is a God after all...
  21. ** in my opinion ** Silverline was run like a military establishment. You were given instructions as to what time to arrive and if you arrived before that time it was noted. Yes they maintained their boats wonderfully well but the rigid instructions on arriving back and when you would have your refund etc put some people off. The only problem with Stalham is the River Ant and that long drag down to get wherever you are going was off putting. The fact that Silverline was on the Southern Broads was such a blessing. Now we are left with Brooms and Pacific Cruisers. I know where my vote will go. If you want a personal service Pacific Cruisers are really good.
  22. What do they suggest is the alternative to petrol and diesel - wind up the elastic and let it go!!! All this twaddle about electric boat and electric cars, can see an awful lot of breakdowns when it all comes about when dozey forgets to charge the batteries.
  23. Never mind the build , I cannot get over the sale price.
  24. If only Pozzick could talk and let you know exactly why he ended up on the edge of the river like he did. They say that things happen for a reason and you passing at that time and taking Pozzick home with you was meant to be.
