  1. I nearly fell over today, the local garage is normally a couple of pence higher than the nearest supermarket. It was showing £1.76 a litre, Morrisons was £1.54 a litre. Guess where I filled up. I think we might see a voluntary 50mph limit on the motorways before long to save fuel. We are heading back to the 70s.
  2. Going to need a few rolls of gaffer tape at the Millennium dome. Blowing at 80mph in Brundall now. VID-20220218-WA0010.mp4
  3. I am onboard now, the marina have chainsaws, telehandler, excavator and appropriate staff on standby on site in the morning. I have put extra ropes on the covers, parked in the middle of the large car park and from midnight I will don the souwester and oil skins and lash myself to the helm.
  4. I am popping up to Brundall tomorow for a couple of days to check the winter cover and new side screens remain intact. It might be bouncy on Friday but that doesn't bother me.
  5. The tech team are on a work around but have full time jobs and family commitments that come first. Payment will be possible well before the meeting. If anyone has booked in on the list that is enough for the time being. Don't worry, the team will chase payment as soon as we can sort it out. There is a forum bank account but it is preferable to pay via the forum when it is up and running. Thanks for your patience.
  6. We are working on it at the moment, Paypal appears to have changed the system and we have to redo it all, it may take a while but we will put a post up when payments can be made. Thanks
  7. It was allowed for a set period, not unusual with a change of use for temporary structures rather than fixed structures.
  8. It still amazes me how well it works no matter the extremes of tide.
  9. Smaller Shetlands have a bit of an issue with water soaked foam in the under floor area, as I found out on my family four. If you catch it soon enough it can be sorted, if not it can be a new floor deck throughout. These newer, smaller boats seem a bit flimsy compared to my old Broom Scorpio and Topliner. They are also quite narrow. The outboard is vulnerable to damage, yes, I know this too and it has taken 3 months to get engine casing parts. Being petrol isn't a problem for what I use it for, going up and down the river on a day out but for extended use it would be a nightmare. I would look for a wider more traditional diesel broads type cruiser. In the spring.
  10. A nice welcome to Norfolk sunset this evening.
  11. It was an enjoyable watch, better than some offerings.
  12. It can't be done, I looked into it, It was going to be my Norfolk branch
  13. Since they changed to mostly electric we rarely hear them. We lived next to the M2 for a year while we renovated an old Manor house elsewhere, after a few weeks we didn't hear the motorway and only became aware of it when it was closed for accidents.
  14. And additional parking spaces. If it has accomadation above that would also fit in with their business.
  15. Sorry, I missed it as I am helping my son move. It never happens when I am sitting around. I feel left out as I didn't get messaged.
  16. Not only plants, but fish and the treatment plant(s).
  17. Port loos can be discharged into a mains sewer, not a grey sewer such as road gulleys. Most chemicals have been formaldehyde free for some years. Marinas that have treatment plants don't allow porta loos to be emptied as it affects the plants.
  18. Thanks, I use E5. I will lift it and drain it if it is being left for more than a month.
  19. Any advice please, I have a 60 hp EFI outboard, as it presumably doesn't have a carburetor do I need to drain the fuel if I intend to use it occasionally over winter. Is it best to lift the engine or keep it lowered in the water. Thanks
  20. Good luck Andyg, they estimate 75% of people with cough and cold symptoms are covid positive. My taste is a bit off and I feel like I have a cold starting, normally we would put it down to a cold. I will test every day to be cautious and keep away from everyone. Hopefully I won't have to cut short my time onboard.
  21. This topic has been removed from a number of fb groups and forums . As Peter says, the mods are doing their best not to have to lock it or hide it. The amount of mods time this has involved over the last few ( holiday ) days is unacceptable. It is now locked permanently. Please do not try to resurrect it in another thread.
