ranworthbreeze
Good afternoon all, I am passing on the below flood alert for your awareness - anecdotal reports suggest localised flooding is already affecting roads, paths and settlements in the Broads area. The Environment Agency has notified that there is a flood alert in place along the tidal River Yare from Thorpe St Andrew to Breydon Water. Flooding is possible for the tidal River Yare, from Thorpe St Andrew to Breydon Water including Brundall, Cantley, Reedham and Burgh Castle. This message has been issued because there is a possibility of some minor flooding to riverside roads and footpaths tomorrow morning, Saturday 26 September 2020. Current forecasts predict water levels will peak around Brundall at 07:45am tomorrow morning. High water levels may last for a few days until the high tides at Great Yarmouth have passed. High water levels may also be observed on Sunday 27 September. Please take care on waterside roads and footpaths and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger. Take into account the water levels whilst mooring up and remember to call Broads Control on 01603 756056 if you require assistance. The Environment Agency are monitoring the situation and will issue further advice if there are any additional updates. See flood alert: https://flood-warning-information.service.gov.uk/target-area/054WATBT2 Kind regards, Tom Tom Waterfall Senior Communications Officer Broads Authority 01603 756034 Broads Authority, Yare House, 62-64 Thorpe Road. SwanR
We need a “wow” reaction for posts. Wouldn’t feel right to “like” your photos Helen. What a 24 hours this has been and there’s more wind and rain in the forecast for today. Take care whatever you decide to do.
YnysMon
Graham has just returned from taking the dog out. He’s commented that the Brooms fuel attendant will need wellies, as that bit is flooded out too.
Hylander
Not the River Yare but the head of The Waveney at Mendham Mill the river is very high. Also was looking at the web cam at Potter. The river looks very full there and does that boat look as if it is moored under the bridge? Remember my eyes are not all they were.

I would also be concerned about the electrics as water can easily get into the plugs which are very low....

It rather looks as though it’s wedged under the bridge!
YnysMon
Looks like there’s a sailey with mast down just the far side of the apparently wedged boat too.
floydraser
And there's a network error on the Yare webcam.
trambo
Just had a peep on Wood's cam and things have been tidied up but river very high. Seems to be a Silver Jubilee moored up on the wrong side of bridge. Feel sorry for the boatyard guys doing the turnaround. Fred

And for anyone who took a boat over yesterday. And anyone who has arrived early around the area and is waiting to get their handover today. Still wet and windy.
