The Warbirds people have been in touch.

Spitfire Grace is currently operational.

However the Wx is playing stupid buggers, there is the possibility that on arrival the crosswinds will be too strong to operate, we will just have to hope and wait and see.  We have to be there for 1530 lastest, due to fly about 1600 ish

I'm ready to go as are family / friends

We keep getting lovely sunshine and occasional short, sharp and heavy showers and we're 30 miles from Sywell. I'm confident he should have a great time. Fingers crossed.

Now being chauffeured home

Awesome experience. I got to fly her too. Fingertip feather control, you can almost think her into a turn

The last flight of the year, the sunset was perfect. The pilot commentated afterwards that if Carling did Spitfire flights, that would have been the one

Aerobatics and plenty of them, Spitfire dives, victory rolls, wing overs, loops the lot. Smooth, powerful fast, total confidence in the aircraft too. 

How do you follow that?  Photos later/ tomorrow

It was some event! The aerobatics were really good and much like the ones they do for Sywell Air Shows. I see from the track that they didn’t fly over my house., phew.😋

We also got a tour around the Warbirds Hangar, ‘treasure’ doesn’t really express the quality of items there!

I will leave it to Griff to tell you all about it, it was his day.
