EdwardCharlesMitchell
Can I pick your brains please? I'm moored in Stalham. On Christmas Day I have a 1 O'clock reservation at the Cross Keys Dilham. What time d'you reckon I should set off? Will be travelling at a sedate pace. Very grateful for your advice. Thanks in advance. Edward
CambridgeCabby
Stalham to Dilham by river is 3.5 miles so at a nice leisurely 3.5 mph it will take an hour
BrundallNavy
With the high river levels can you get under the bridge.
oldgregg
I did think that. Wayford doesn't have that much clearance even at normal states of tide.
Heron
Water levels at Wayford Bridge very high at the moment.
Graham47
Low tide at Wayford bridge on Christmas Day is about 11.00 AM but as stated above Wayford Bridge doesn’t have much clearance even when tides are normal. There’s not an easy plan B once you reach the bridge.
EdwardCharlesMitchell
Thanks very much for every reply to my question. I really appreciate it. My first Christmas Day on the Broads - I'm determined to enjoy it come what may.
Graham47
I hope it all works out well. I can’t think of anything nicer than being on the Broads at Christmas.

Bluebell
This was me September 2020 wondering if I could get back through Wayford Bridge! (I did, but it was tight!) Hope you get there (and back) on Christmas Day and enjoy your lunch - sounds like fun…😎

floydraser
A lot I would guess. New year too. I've only been here for three years and I am amazed at how many use their boats all year round, many you won't see as they are used as "floating caravans". Whatever the excuse though, it's always great to see people enjoying themselves.
Cheesey69
We will. Especially now we got a paraffin heater that works well and is clean. Apart from lockdown last year it was battery usage that knocked us back. Fine if we could get a hook up but you lose that little bit of freedom if you’re looking for power.
LizG
I would do a practice run to ensure you can get under Wayford. It's a long walk from there to Dilham and your Christmas dinner might get cold!

I guess it'll be interesting to see where power, water, pump out will be available. A voyage of discovery!
