Not had a mealnyhere for a few years, what's the food like?

We had food there in May, and it was very nice. 

Memo to self,

When leaving Cantley make sure the boat is actually in gear, giving the throttle more revs doesn't work, especially when the boat ends up sideways on! Luckily only two other boats were there, and I realised my mistake in time.

It's one Broads pub I've never visited being the view from the mooring that puts me off. Maybe I should give it a try.

Luckily the factory does not operate in season else ear-plugs would sell well alongside the electric cards (not heard the end of campaign date for 2022 they were the last sugar factory to start up last autumn)

The same for us, although one of our favourite moorings on the southern rivers is at Hardley Mill, which is still relatively close to the factory, but out of sight at least unless you stand on the bank near the mill itself.

Oddly any trip on the southern Broads has to have a stop over at Cantley for me. I say oddly because when the factory is all lit up at night it has a strange kind of beauty all it's own and it's such a stark comparison to the surrounding landscape.

Would hate it to be all like that and one night is enough but I really enjoy that experience.

And during summer you can watch peregrine's going about their business, there's a nesting ledge on the end silo, a good scope will spot chicks from the pub frontage.

To be fair, it does look better at night!!

We've never been tempted to moor there mainly because of the awful smell that seems to be omnipresent  in that  area. The pub  looks a bit on the run down side too plus the bank is very low to come in on.

Hi Smoggy, sorry I missed you as I was sat down with the laptop surfing the forum, but Mrs Karizma (Tracy) was at the helm and remembers waving back.
