SwanR Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 Picked this news up on a local site. Whether you know it as Liberty or The Bridge or by its new name of Water’s Edge, I think this is very good news. https://www.northnorfolknews.co.uk/news/24199085.norfolk-broads-pub-waters-edge-reopen-wroxham 3 Quote
CambridgeCabby Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 Wasn’t the Waters Edge formally The Shed ? edited to add just looked closely at the building work photos and agree is the old Liberty building , which to the best of my knowledge was not a pub but a restaurant , as opposed to the old Waters Edge (The Shed) which was more a pub Quote
garryn Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 The shed was the one behind faircraft loynes boatyard. This is the one right next to the bridge. Quote

Realise that , it changed its name to Waters Edge prior to its closure , agree the one in the paper is the old Liberty restaurant , would struggle to call it a pub Quote

They are aiming to become more like a pub at the relaunch. Agreed, it wasn't in it's previous form. 2 Quote
BrundallNavy Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 I wouldn’t have said it was fine dining before more of a steak house. 1 Quote

Turnoar Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 It’s nice to have an alternative waters edge. Imaginative name… if your imagination stretches a few miles. Is it the same business as Bramerton’? 1 Quote
Andrewcook Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 I would Just ask an important Question is the place Dog Friendly? Quote
SwanR Posted March 22, 2024 Author Posted March 22, 2024 The King’s Head in Hoveton is also reported as reopening today after extensive refurbishment of all areas. 2 Quote
SwanR Posted March 31, 2024 Author Posted March 31, 2024 Paid a visit to the Kings Head in Hoveton today. The Sunday roast was fine. Other menu items were a little hit and miss. But it’s pub grub, less expensive than other places. The staff were very friendly. The service was good. And the refurbishment is looking lovely. I would go back if I want cheap and cheerful but possibly not for a special occasion. 2 1 Quote

I must say, Green King have done a fantastic job with the refurbishment, creating a very nice atmosphere and still a proper pub. Was proving very popular even out of season. With the garden also refurbished, I can see it being a great place this summer. 3 Quote

Difficult to remember exactly but from from what I do recall there is a pergola with a walled off new seating area. The riverside garden looks pleasant and refreshed. 1 Quote
dom Posted May 25, 2024 Posted May 25, 2024 Sadly, Water's Edge have just announced that they're forced to close from 30th May until further notice due to a staff shortage. Apparently, they need a Head Chef, Sous Chef, Restaurant Manager, and General Manager. 1 Quote
