boat gone up in flames at sutton

I think it is a boat which had been on our yard, it recently sold and moved last week.

More on this in the EDP they say no one was hurt ,which is good news.

Luckily no one was hurt, and if insurance is in place, even though it takes time, things should (should ) be sorted.

its a foster 40 (i think 40)  it was for sale for £500 (sign on back) it had no engine but not sure about the rest, it was moored stern on on the main river with a 'no turning' sign and a 4mph sign on it...

I remember when Barnes had those boats, always convinced they looked a lot more than 12ft wide. Very sad indeed to see what remains of it.

Leave it to the professionals,  possible fuel tank or gas bottle explosion could kill you and the person or persons have got off and gone in the other direction.

That was the boat the old couple lived on for years.

We were moored 6 boats down for a couple of years.

It needed a hell of a lot of work doing to.

What happened to the old couple?

It is.

If you find her on Craig's database, his pictures clearly show a solid fuel stove at the front of the cabin on the port side, with the flue going straight up through the roof. The commentary on the second video also mentions that the fire was started by the solid fuel stove (although how he knows this I'm not sure - it could just be educated guesswork, or he spoke to somebody on board).

 

From a BSS perspective, as far as I'm aware, checks on solid fuel stoves only came in at the start of 2013, so this boat may well have last been examined under the old checks.
