If you only have 2" below, looking over the stern you should be stirring up the mud. Muddy waters not good for impellers and cooling systems especially on older craft with raw water cooling.

So, stern on the floating pontoon at OBYS , filled both sides of it too. Socialising a plenty. Purdey & Tally swimming off the park, until late afternoon it was hot hot hot.  Spent hours sorting out our illuminations only for it to be cancelled due to wind strength! Really? (Southern french softies) 

Now at Mermaid fish bar taking dinner back onboard. I’ll get some photos later

At least the Wooden Boats Crew, including Griff, is having a pleasant time at Oulton  Broad. The weather forecast over the weekend  is gonna be the Hottest time for this Month

Why is it that folk ‘oop north’ think they have the monopoly on fish and chips?  I’ve had some great fish and chips ‘darn sarf.’  We had cod and chips from The Mermaid a few weeks ago and they were very good.  Salt, vinegar and no bloody gravy, just as they’re supposed to be! 😉😁

Fish n chips etc for the 7 of us from Mermaid fish bar - £54:00. We didn’t get 7 x portions due to the boys, just shared. Plenty for all, excellent quality. I paid as my ‘Fine’ for the Somerleyton bridge incident. 
 

Plenty of pontoon socialising last night, a good evening had by all including many dogs
 

The wind that should have left us at 0400 - hasn’t, there is plenty of cloud cover too but it is mild.  Plenty of wave slap all night from our neighbours hard chine (Papaver)

Today we have to dress overall, then sail in company at 1130 for Beccles. The Broad is a bit choppy, wind needs to reduce, but it’ll be fun / interesting if it doesn’t

Had a great day. All craft dressed overall and just before we slipped at 1130 the sun came out and stayed out.

A great meeting, really good weekend. 
We have now sailed at 1030 bound for the upper Bure. Plenty of revs rung on burning Dyno fuel good & proper - good. We are pushing a flood tide. Will intend to stop at Goodchilds for a pump out - seven souls onboard. Then hopefully enough headroom at GYA to clear and of course into a full ebb tide up the Bure.  Just the way it’s gonna be  it’s glorious sunny day

Made it, 6ft6”. Here’s a thing, the bridge height board before the yellow post stated 6ft2”, at the bridges 6ft6” and 6ft7”

Moored up for the night at Womack water, got here for 1730, that was a seven hour passage. 

Wx still v warm. Curry onboard, Boyz n dogs now on t green
