Hockham Admiral
Rod wrote quite a long article on this practice a few years ago, Roy and Diane. I'm afraid it's gone during the changeover to IPS.
Polly
That's an untapped market right there; stag night cruises to breakers yards.
smellyloo
Whilst dining with Gracie captain Orca listened attentively as Gracie boasted of her navigation prowess on the narrow Chet. Thinking he might be able to impress further he invited Gracie onto the bridge to tinker with his knobs. He realised, too late, that he might have made a mistake mentioning that a container of designer Italian shoes had been washed up on the nearby island!!

Boaters
Perhaps it was " the container ship rushing Gacies shoe order on a fast delivery " could not see her waiting on the dock though ?
LadyPatricia
That was not captain Orca smelly, it was going far too slow and it was on a straight heading
Maxwellian
I opened this thread thinking it was going to be a serious discussion full of good advice. I then saw the YouTube link and had my suspicions. I have seen some boaters use a similar approach on the broads though usually at a slight angle to the bank.

BroadScot
How to really get a mooring at Ranworth... I always go off season, that increases your chances considerably Alan. Also arrive about 10-30am or 2.30pm when boats are often leaving. Well also, I have been lucky and squeezed in when someone has thought its not possible. Hylander
I see there was a fire lit on the mooring , that certainly put that out.
Baitrunner
Iain, I think your right. Although Grace uses them as waypoints instead of a GPS - It's more visual. Although looking at these I think Grace needs to get down the shops and buy some new ones!!
