NorfolkNog
Well done Keith, excellent stuff :-)I sincerely hope that the BA take note of a very clear pattern emerging particularly regarding the aspirations of the freeholder.
kfurbank
Howard, I was trying to find different angles rather than repeating what other have already said, but also struggling with the 2000 letter limit. I think I ended up with just 5 letters spare in the end. I don't think many applications have received such a response from the public comments sections, all of which are objections. Hopefully the BA do the right thing. I note that even the BA tourism officer who has history as a licensee has objected.
C.Ricko
Was there last weekend for the Breydon regatta, I was not generous customer but most others seemed more than happy with what was going on..
NorfolkNog
Hi Clive Glad you managed to get in. Were you not too happy? Can you share with us or would you rather not say?
C.Ricko
I am always a bit miserable, I was there saturday evening delivering the boat for the Sunday race of the regatta but did not eat or drink there as I did not stay then had to leave for Oulton straight after the prizes.. everyone else seemed happy though.
Chelsea14Ian
Saw a item on look east yesterday,re planning all for change of use.I do hope it stays as a pub,I know its not easy, but it was always a good stopping off point, before crossing bw. kfurbank
Interesting flood risk assessment on the documents page. Although dated the 12th Aug it has only recently been added to the site. Certainly after I'd made my comments, as I may have been tempted to correct an inaccuracy. It states that there is no risk of a tidal surge as it is inland!!!! December 2013 I was effectively trapped in St Olaves marina for a couple of days after a tidal surge had come up The Yare, overtopped in various places down The New Cut and flooded the A143 between Haddiscoe and St Olaves bridges making it impossible to exit the marina until the water had subsided. Perhaps someone could ask the Environment Agency to stop issuing flood alerts for The Waveney and Yare when there is a storm surge forecast as apparently there is no risk of a tidal surge inland.
LizG
We walked from Berney Arms to Yarmouth after catching the train in December 2013 and not long after the surge. It was pretty obvious that the water had come over the top!!!!
AdnamsGirl
We caught the train from Reedham up to the Berney Arms yesterday and walked back. It was a tad windy out there! Once I get the photos onto my PC later I'll post some up in the holiday tales section as we've had a Broads weekend away with a bit of a difference. BroadAmbition
I did a bit of searching around the web looking for a tel number for the Berney Arms - I found - 01493 700303 but that number is no longer current.Does anyone have a current number I can ring them on please? Thanks,Griff
NorfolkNog
If all else fails Griff you could try ringing the Beauchamp as I'm sure Mr Hollocks will have the current number for the Berney! Green Jack Brewery may have it too if they are supplying beer there.

kfurbank
Not sure how up to date it is, but there is a Facebook page with the following number on 01493 700243. Different to the one you already have, so might be current.

lampini
Does anyone know if it's possible to book a mooring there in advance?
Hockham Admiral
Not too sure about the pub moorings, Jane, you might give them a bell? The public (BA) moorings are seldom anywhere near full........... but with all the attention they've been getting recently I'll probably be prove wrong on that! Hockham Admiral
Wot he ^ said! with your experience - do you recon they'll be possibly chokka in September too? We've found, Jane, over the years, that the fishing brigade can be very nearly as numerous as the school-hols peeps in September.
