  5. We had the money ready to pay for the mooring, but know one came. That was the first week in May. The food was bland and piled high with chips, oldest trick in the book in catering to make a plateful look VFM. Iain.
  6. Ladies and Gentlemen you have been asked politely to let it drop off the cliff. Aye ok, not a lot of cliffs on the Broads anno....But, Pretty Please Enough is Enough. Thank you. Iain.
  7. Very nice indeed Doug, Thank you. My worry would be if those four were on the Ant all at the same time on a saturday change over day. Iain.

  12. Calm down Mark wiz joking about BA and using Nic Nic SOB to escort us over, just a figure of speech, nowt else. If it came to that, I regretably would stay South or North. Iain.
  13. Sorry Mark I dont like a police state of any kind on holiday. What is the wording again ??? ah yes Freedom to go where you please. Its bad enough now that after thirty, nah nearlly forty years cruising I can no longer take my hired craft through Wroxham Bridge. I am all for safety, but I will repeat what I said in my earlier post COMMON SENSE is the order of the day. IMHO. Iain
  14. Nae water though Clive? Just space Sorry, couldny resist! Iain.
  15. Keith, You got me thinking of memory lane. Bars open 5pm till 10pm 1/6d a pint 1/9d a Quarter Gill dram. Old style Beer Festivals?...Nah pub crawls on a seterday nicht were the order of the day. Getting totaly pickled( not me I may add ) for well under a Quid. I did go to a beer festival once! In Linlithgow in the Four Marys. They wee plastic sampler cups were no fur me Iain.

  17. Oh stop it you pair, or I will break into song being HALF Welsh! lol.... Yes I would love to cross that viaduct on it. But erindoors aint good with heights! Iain.
  18. Hi Spider, as you enter Rockland Broad from either dykes into the broad proper, I have dropped the mudweight when on a bath tub (Bermuda) just at the marker posts not any further in, and was ok on both occasions. I did however do it at high water on both visits. Iain.
  19. Strowy.... I coped with our local Harbour Bar in Ayr for years ... Hic!.... But appreciate excatly what you were saying on the way of water/sea. Iain.
  20. Hi Charlie, Welcome to the NBN from me Iain.
  21. If you follow the guidelines that are on here, the internet, in brochures, in Boat Skippers manuals, goodness knows where else, crossing Braydon either way should not scare anyone. IF you use a very simple process.... COMMON SENSE.... Yes pass the Yellow Post as you go past the two bridges YES stay inside the Red and Green Posts on Braydon. The trouble is IMHO people DO NOT read the instructions freely available, or choose to listen to some cock n bull story of the evil dangers of crossing Braydon Water. I do agree if first timers, stick North or South as the case may be, then the next time you should have the confidence to tackle the crossing. The Broads are navigable to the whole area not bits of it, well maybe That bridge to many. Oh me, I crossed it on my second holiday on a old woodie Barnes Bridge. Tide tables? What tide tables. Even had to leave the Locks Inn at dawn to get through Beccles Bridge. To all who are worried, don't be, apply common sense, listen to those who know, by all means phone Gt Yarmouth Yacht Station too if you feel it is required. Most importantly, enjoy ALL of the Norfolk Broads. I hope all of that makes sense to some, if not all. Iain
  22. Well why are you not in the picture then Jon, your a star Brundall on a high water? Iain.
