  1. We all have memories to think back on but my most memorable was being moored somewhere like Herbert Woods on the first Sunday morning with a number of other hireboats and all of us seemingly cooking our first egg and bacon meal on board with the smell drifting over the boatyard - magic!
  2. The B.A. will be giving you a job - unpaid of course.
  3. Yes I have - but they are still attached to the bottles! Sorry, I thought it was funny, but have just got back fro the pub. Thats my excuse!

Wise words, thank you. I'll bet you changed insurers after that? You just don't know how good they are until you have to make a claim. Fortunately I never had to.
  5. My Seamaster 30 was also 8'6". Went through a couple of times at low water but was always a squeeze!
  6. It would probably benefit them to get the record straight - Go for it
  7. Folkestone high tide was 11.14 today. Does that help?
  8. Have a great time. Best wishes.
  9. When we started using it, a lot actually, as our mooring was Beccles. Alan was the harbourmaster and lived on the Dutch boat and the bar was run by a family from Liverpool. We had some brilliant nights there!
  10. I could be wrong but I think hirers in those days were more caring?
  11. Great 'photos. Can you share any others of her being built. Any idea what she would have cost to build in those days? Thanks
  12. Me and two mates hired a houseboat there - many years ago. Thought we were the 'bees knees!
  13. Maybe too greedy in the first place?
  14. Beat me to it. My thoughts exactly.
  15. Maybe an intense hand over because you are blond and female? Only joking, honest
  16. It was about 6 years ago! Bought a replacement at the chandlers in Oulton Broad the same day.. Sold the boat about 4 years ago unfortunately. Regards Alan
  17. That fender looks like the one I lost near Oulton Broad.
  18. Hi. Cannot really advise on make/type there is so much to choose from. We had a rib and outboard which we hung from davits on our Seamaster 30. My only advice - be careful with the weight. Best of luck
  19. Just out of interest, have you paid to stay there?
  20. For the first time in about 10 days the sun is out here in Hawkinge. We still have the stiff breeze but at least its a warm one!
  21. In Hawkinge, Kent we have had a strong cold wind for 7-8 days - and I thought the summer was here!
  22. Thanks for the boat details - I just can't help being nosey! Nice - but not my choice.
  23. I won't be taking the wife then - it would be more than £36 - just go on my own!
