  1. A nice leather covered pulpit rail.. Im sure there's boats out there that have such... whats the old saying;.. if you pay for it you can have it lol
  2. I do feel safer with a full pulpit rail even on the broads but I think my parents boat has a pilot rail and do see the point. If you can get good measurements there's a company here who will make to measurements and post up, they are very good value (and don't normally double the price if you mention boat. http://www.pwnash.co.uk/ give them a try (They are very good and I'm sure will help advise how to measure).
  3. You need the : and broadscot (no space) so : broadscot
  4. I've added this one for now.. will show if you type : broadscot (no space between : and broadscot)
  5. Autonomy's flags are flying at half mast and will remain so until Iains funeral.
  6. Here's a picture of Iain, like me he's very camera shy so not many pictures about. Taken from his facebook. We did have the pleasure of meeting him last year and he was so full of life and had an amazing character... Such a lost..
  7. Too sad for words. Sleep well buddy.. you will be so missed
  8. It's not cheap to build boats though.. Everyone goes on about how HW has an old fleet.. it's nice to see them building and investing in their fleet and the broads. Hopefully once it's paid for itself then the prices will come down.. you can't compare the cost of hiring with private ownership. But top marks from me.. looks brill look forward to seeing them out earning their keep. Hope to see more of the same!
  9. Nice to see little boats being built! I'd hire it if I had to... Shame its got a bow thruster though, that will knock the hire price up too and keep it high as it will be burnt out all the time... strange.. evenso.. Nice to see someone catering for couples..
  10. Keep dreaming... you are stuck now
  11. Sounds good rules.. Closing date 1st December as time is needed to get it to print... Start taking pictures....

    Calendars

I did try and get one of our crew member included for december (or January) but he didn't get enough votes I think they look fab.. can only be made better with lots of pictures...those out all year, please take your camera! Next year we must put the credit and a caption at least but JA did amazing given the timescale!
  13. I'm still not sold on these things.. it seems like its given an excuse for poor exercises or given the operators a second chance.. if it's poor.. close the bloody thing down and only allow it to be open when it's good. (I thought that's what the inspectors do anyway) I agree any restaurant should only be open if it's good, not "well it's poor but we are given them a chance", that's worst...
  14. Poppy.. I do agree with what me pops said, but as per the last discussion we had on this, I'm really along the line of.. surely it's good or bad.. as far as we know a Zero means it's still safe but just not very very very very very safe?! that doesn't make much sense.. Also I'm a bit surprised by some ratings... surely people can't be that ignorant 2 or 3 years on a row.. if they are then they should be closed down.. not given this strange rating.. I'm all for food hygiene, I'm worst that my dad in some things. I think this scheme is good but it needs a bit of tweaking.. and yes the rating should be visible..
  15. We ate in there last year.. must admit the food was really really good (Chinese is our favourite and we eat in lots of places). Service was good.. Yeah it's a bit tatty inside but it was really good food and we are still alive.. Obviously I have all faith in food inspectors but I wonder if the owners upset people then scores are adjusted.. Surely if it's that bad it would be closed down.
  16. Shame .. looks like they invested lots in the website.. perhaps they are new and visited as they was starting up.
  17. Here's another from my attempt... The NBN burgee is there if you look really closely.. Any more? (Your own mr QV )
  18. Happy birthday Mr Scrumpy Hope you have a fair few scrumpies!
  19. Hi Stuart, I've heard about boat shield but don't know much about it. Can you help advise where i can find more out (and get some stickers!). I'd like to think our boat is reasonably secure but would certainly welcome any advice.
  20. Hi All, This time of the year there is a natural spectacle on the norfolk beaches! It's seal pub time! It's the first time we've seen this and it really was amazing. I must admit I have kinda mixed views about this as I really think they should be left alone and us humans should really leave them alone, although here at Horsey it's very carefully managed; the beach is shut and there are seal wardens keeping a close watch.. so it was nice to see.. The seal pubs just look so cute! And the colony there seems to be doing well considering there was over 1200 pubs born over the last week! Take a look at Friends of Horsey seals for more details too.. http://friendsofhorseyseals.co.uk/
  21. My understanding of insurance is that there something strange about asking for a copy of insurance certificates.. Something to do with, if the marina asks for a copy then they are therefore liable/responsible should anything happen. I've had this a couple of times, the yacht club just ask to sign a declaration and the same is true at broadsedge, although my resi marina do ask for a copy.. So this maybe one reason why the BA have kinda washed their hands, they can't know what's what and it is down to the boat owners. I'm a sucker for insurance and all our boats are insured with the top underwritter; nav and gen and the service we received when we had to claim was outstanding.. I will never insure with anyone else.
  22. Didn't city boats only have 3 cruisers? IMHO they've not been strong at marketing their offerings so no surprise really... surprised they carried on as long as they did.. Good luck to all involved though. MM - I agree as I've said before the broads needs the hirefleet to keep it affordable for all. Not sure of the background to city boats going but it may be down to other reasons other than the multiplier.
  23. Perhaps Brooms will buy it and put the hirefleet there
  24. Ok how about a set of 4 NBN beer mats for every contribution... (I need to get rid of my stock!)..needs to have the NBN logo (We need winter pictures for next years calendar ) Must admit Christmas is getting earlier each year.. one day it really will be Christmas everyday.. I've not thought about our lights this year as we have a new boat, but I'm sure we will do something funky (But not until the 12th )
