  1. What a transformation, great job. I’m looking forward to following your progress on the new boat
  2. Nice looking boat to NBN Mark, good luck with the sale
  3. Hope you’ve had a Happy Birthday If it’s today Grace
  4. Yes we watched the murmeration at How Hill on our first night (9thSept) and have an almost identical photo to yours. David
  5. It’s actually a frame from video (the camera was mounted and recording) on September 20th at 10:36 just past St Benedicts Church mooring. You were heading towards Horning.. I have the video clip but can’t post it here
  6. Here’s one of Water Rail from last September, spotted this the other day while looking through some video I had rolling at the time
  7. Thieving b******ds no apologies for implying bad language at this type of pondlife. Sorry to hear this Griff. I agree with Chris this is the lowest of the low robbing a man of the tools of his trade
  8. It must have been pretty new back then. I don’t remember what we paid but I do remember paying extra for a tiny b & w TV set.
  9. Broom Boats will always be a bit special to me. The very first boat we hired was Broom Navigator 2 way back in the mists of time which started my love for The Broads which is as strong today as it ever was. I know management has changed over the years etc. But it’s still Broom to me. The video is very well and professionally produced promo with a lot of post production, it’s not just a guy with a camera on a boat filming for YouTube (no disrespect to YouTubers, there’s some stuff out there)
  10. No problem We only used it for a 2 week hire but had some pretty extreme weather over that time. I don’t know how it would survive if left out for extended periods, maybe a bit of Vaseline or similar around the joint would keep the water out. It’s now an essential part of our boating kit hope it works out for you
  11. Yes we left it out all fortnight without any issues. I used one of these gel pads to hold it and it never moved an inch, even in the high winds. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Silica-Gel-Magic-Sticky-Pad-Cellphone-Anti-Slip-Non-Slip-Mat-for-Mobile-Phone-F/122858071732?_trkparms=aid%3D555019%26algo%3DPL.BANDIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20170912102133%26meid%3D4f8d83b3042142239cbbdf77fc250139%26pid%3D100754%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26&_trksid=p2045573.c100754.m4842 these pads don’t mark the gel coat at all. I just used it at home a couple of weeks ago and it’s still working fine, even indoors I got all the channels.
  12. I remember going to these Saturday cinema mornings in the 60’s and they were as packed as this film shows. (Remember the adverts and prices as well) It was the highlight of the week for us kids, everybody went
  13. “Nowt but a bairn” as we say up in these parts. good to have you back and a belated happy birthday

    Wind

We had a real blow through the night here in NE . It’s still windy but the worst of it seems to have passed over now
  15. I don’t think so Helen. I know we’ve never filled up there so could be wrong
  16. One memory that stands out to me from 2017 is spending the night afloat at Waveney River Centre when Hurricane Aileen hit. Interesting to say the least
  17. Thought they were brilliant, so tight as a band. It’s amazing how many hit songs Nile Rodgers has been behind
  18. Happy New Year to you all
  19. Thank you Grace and a Happy & Healthy New Year to you and your family and a Happy New Year to all members of the NBN. Safe and happy boating to you all David
