  9. I am just trying to find the post where Tim discussed this, but in general terms the TOS used to not allow criticism of businesses, but after several protestations that it was not fair if only good reviews were allowed, we decided to allow consttructive criticism, as long as the criticism didnt turn into a deliberate campaign against a company, after all if a business doesnt know it has made a mistake, they cant change their policies to avoid that mistake in the future.
  10. just needs a new chine and a few planks
  11. that was this morning - early bird and all that, I was home by 7am yesterday was sorting out the workshop and tools from the work on RT.
  12. Well after nearly two months of trips to the broads and missing my boot fair fix, I managed to get to the boot fair today, only two purchases, but utter bargains. first is a vice on a compound table, for just £10, it needs cleaning and oiling, but its a proper bargain, and will fit nicely on my big pillar drill, the second was an old telescope in its wood box, I already have one of these, so know the quality, so, despite the tripod being missing it was well worth the £20 I paid, so 2 new projects for cleaning up and restoration.
  13. I hope you are reunited soon. might be worth stressing the medical dog angle to anyone you get in contact with as it might speed things up.
  14. there is a chart to correlate battery voltage to charge state, but it must be measured after the batteries have been off charge for about an hour or you will get a false reading
  15. in your first post with the battery out of its holder, I am not quite sure what you are testing , maybe a voltage through the board on one battery.
  16. looking at your meter connections, the bottom picture, you are correctly testing the middle battery, in the top picture you are once again testing the middle battery but with the probes reverse polarity, you have your positive probe connected to the positive end of the top battery (which is the negative end of the middle battery, and your negative probe connected to the negative end of the bottom battery (which is the positive end of the middle battery). Clear as mud - probably are the lights both the same colour? some colour LED's use more current than others, so this may be a contributing factor.
  17. it has been known for the wiring inside components to be faulty, I once bought something that did not work until I put the batteries in backwards, ie with the positive towards the spring end, generally a lack in the quality control department.
  18. and therin lies another issue with the site, you like myself and many others I suspect spare a glance as we cross the bridge for whats happening on the water, suppose as we are glancing at the boats, there is a coach full of children turning into the entrance of the proposed centre, are we going to see it in time to stop? a bad entrance at the best of times, compounded with a good view from the top of the bridge makes for a dangerous turning for coaches or cars parking at the site.
  19. Here is a copy of the letter - reproduced with the kind consent of Bill Maxted Parish councillor to keep the public informed, and prevent the spread of alarm and despondency.
  20. Archaeologists just dig up the dirt!!
  21. I was curious and looked on google street view, now this doesnt show the NDR yet, but on several of the roundabouts i could see there was no signage indicating a roundabout ahead, no slow down now signs, no direction signs, and on several of the roundabouts I could see skid marks approaching the roundabout, so its not a new problem caused by the NDR, it was happening before the NDR was completed too. this leads me to believe that it is a combination of poor signage and bad driving (driving too fast) that is the primary cause. this is confirmed in my mind by witnessing first hand some of the driving in this area (a car overtaking me followed at a distance of a few feet by another, once past me the rear car tried to cut down the inside of the overtaking car, just when they were moving out of his way - the rear car then cut back to the outside, went past the first car and slammed his anchors on, causing me to have to brake sharply to avoid the pair of them). If this is considered normal behaviour in the area, then it doesnt surprise me that cars end up crossing the middle of the roundabouts.
  22. we could wait and see, but then if anything is amiss - it could well be too late to do anything about it.
  23. I do see why the film is liked by the head of the broads authority, its the inclusion of a shot that says the broads should be a national park - now wheres me tin hat. did anyone notice in the interview when the reporter mentioned something about the history of the broads and mentioned the authority that JP responded with 'the broads yes' when in reality it was prior to the broads authority foundation? having now watched both and taken on board the comments from Vaughan, I can appreciate now the cleverness that is attributed to JP, though to use this footage in the way they have does seem very sneaky to me.
  24. yes, straight from work, car will be packed before I leave home and then a days work before I head up, a lot of my holiday this year is either booked or been used up in odd days recovering after a weekend working on Royal Tudor.
