  1. Hi Trevor, I thought that's what happens every time a boat goes out, maybe just me! Still it beats frying on a beach surrounded by noisy people intent on being loud!!!! paul
  2. As the starter of the topic I must warn against the dangers of a 220 amp DC system, 2 batteries, a close friend had his finger burnt off when a screwdriver connected his wedding ring and the positive terminal!!! I can and will tackle electrickery but not GAS. Gas kills without you knowing, be it by suffocation or BOOM. The only thing that really worries me about the BSS, is the boat I maybe moored next is not safe. paul
  3. Nice tale Robin Rascal, but you missed nearly all the south side. Loddon. Beccles, Geldeston, Thorpe, Oulton, etal. Pubs aplenty. I suppose you will have to persuade Clive to open a yard on the SAARF. Clive I think many are available. paul
  4. MOORING CHARGES. Everybody tries to moor nearby and walk rather than pay the high costs. Also the Bear and Bells has gone downhill.
  5. Welcome, Do not hire a boat 'cos you will want to return then you'll start looking at buying a boat then you'll be broke but happy!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously book and enjoy, I have never met anyone who does not want to boat again. August is very busy unless you have kids I would try out of season first. paul
  6. Well, I have booked a member to do the BSS in May, as nothing has changed ( unless by the previous owner ) hopefully, everything crossed, a pass. The new regs do worry thou'. MOT's do seem to be better regulated. paul
  7. I need a BSS doing before the end of June. We are based in Brundall, does anybody have recommendations? Preferably a member or even better somebody blind deaf and idiotic, not true! would like to know the boat is safe. Any tips to check before the test much appreciated. paul
  8. re filling the waste tank with water that just means an earlier pump out, I remember approaching Loddon staithe with a very strong smell of diesel around and thinking we had a MAJOR problem with the engine, only to find while the men were at the pub the women had filled the diesel tank with water but had a coffee while it was filling and the tank was full of water and the water (Chet) was full of diesel. paul
  9. You could always change the waste and fuel caps over, should be a nice surprise for anyone trying to syphon out fuel paul
  10. We got ours from Norwich Camping, dearer but very sturdy for jumping on/off and IDEAL for little tables while sat at the back having a little tipple. Paul
  11. Hello and welcome to the mad house but we are normally friendly. Paul
  12. moored at brundall and happy with the happy staff at budgens. anti tesco/asda/morrisons et al. paul
  13. If you can do it I hope can. Thanks for asking the question H.
  14. Admittedly I have only done a small area but I used doubled sided carpet tape cost more and I had to press it down a few times 2 years on it is still stuck, some of it on the roof lining. I did get the lining from NM, strangely they were the cheapest. Paul
  15. As it is still displaying the Bluebird logo does this mean it is available for hire Clive? Paul
  16. Using it now and the best description is parc! about as good as vista. I keep going back to my old laptop using 7 even if the battery life is about 1 hour. paul
  17. Richard, that's great news for you, will see you again from Easter. We always try to visit even if it's just for the pleasant chat but I always buy some sweets, please stop selling them! Only problem I can see if the pub goes back to being as good as it was in the 90's mooring will become a problem again. Paul
  18. BRILLIANT!!! Sadly I'm one of the skippers you've never kissed. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ONE AND ALL back at easter hope to see all paul
  19. ? I'm allowed to operate multi million pound machines at work, but banned from looking at whatever that thing was at home? ps If you want to really annoy the boss use the iron as a laminator. Paul
  20. The stern drive is what attracted me, we have an old CF21 with a single cylinder Yanmar and sonic outdrive, handles a treat, like a car for stern mooring. The Atlantic bed was so stained Jill wouldn't even try it for size! paul
  21. We went to have a look see last time we were down. We were very disappointed with the condition inside and only room to sit around the table ( need to duck to get round the table ) saw better boats elsewhere. I also could not find any info about it. Paul
