  1. Very sorry to hear that Iain but a good 6 months hibernation through the winter and you'll be jogging down to the Broads. paul
  2. Hi passed it this morning only a bit bow showing, high tide, but enough to see the pulpit rail looked to have taken a heavy whack. Paul
  3. I dare all of you to try and take Jill's square boaty frying pan from her. paul
  4. Hi Cat I check possible updates when I log in to all accounts then search for problems with updates. Broadscot only certain Samsung are affected they deny it is a problem BUT are looking for a solution! Nokia lumina is the affected the worst. The problem with android is you take a risk reverting to a previous version to the point the device will not work again. Chrome etal have problems until programmers realise not everyone speaks fluent gobblygook, computers will never replace conversation. How much of your available programmes do you use? I am a geek having used PDAs for years before tablets. Now I need TABLETS to use a tablet pc. paul
  5. You do get that with android. 2 devices updated to 5.0 now I cannot recieve email on either (samsung), and it is very risky to try and go back unlike windows 10. So with several computer devices, mine and Jill's auto update is off. Bring back the abacus. Paul
  6. WRC today D £1.25. P £1.75 all must be old stock paul
  7. Sorry J A, I will not take sound common sense from a wooden boat, not when our unelected plastic superiors give much more illogical advice! paul
  8. Bad luck Alan. Does it have to be Suffolk? Plenty around here in Brundall. WRC will do it not sure about hippersons. Paul
  9. Srictly? With all those billowy dresses and twirling around going nowhere isn't it just a land based Yacht Regatta? paul
  10. Ps we still opened and drank some champagne, still looking for 20 maidens in Great Yarmouth to ravage thou'. paul
  11. Leo I changed my name no problem. It is also a good way to hide, but this lot on here soon learn and discover past dismeaners. Paul ex captmatt
  12. I have got a well worn Musto snug 5 years old expensive but still looks new, in fact thinking of buying something else 'cos l'm sick of wearing it. It keeps out rain hail snow wind, the only thing I didn't like was the hood so I cut it off and us my 20 year old woolly hat. Paul
  13. I was doomed years ago. I was just trying to help humanity. You have a lot more posts than me! We are all (happily) doomed. Paul
  14. Hello to all new members. I do not usually greet new members. This is because if you are new members you have reached the point of no return. The addiction is now beyond salvation accept this and you will receive treatment by regularly logging on and seeing you are not alone. Some off the members can seem normal but be aware they have the same affliction as you. If you are hiring for the first time help is always available here. If you have visited the broads before then have just found this site THERE is no redemption. The NHS may say there is a cure but this is unproven I alone can help ( for a tank of fuel ). The answer is buy a boat be broke, wonder how you can sneak another visit, or how to hire that ?week this year. PLEASE HELP ME I NEED TREATMENT. next weekend. Paul
  15. On our first visit to the Broads Jill was all over the river, on the 3rd day I tried to explain how to keep straight. I know that she said I'm avoiding running down the ducks and swans!!!!!!! paul
  16. I AM GOING TO ENJOY THIS HOLIDAY NO MATTER WHAT. Springs to mind, well done that helm true bulldog spirit. Paul
  17. Mr T keep up the reports, you wouldn't have a big enough memory card to record my bloopers! If someone is daft enough to go through when the boat will not fit then it should be shown as a warning to others, but then again you can take achild to school but not make it learn. Paul
  18. AS ugly as a boat hanging it's washing out? ooooops think I'll go into hiding now. paul
  19. No Marina we always try and travel on a Sunday. The M25 maybe hell but the A17 is heller! The traffic travels at 10 mph or 100mph. Paul
  20. Marina we have your space. Bank holiday we will stay at Cove until the ankle bitters return to school! paul
  21. It does not matter how idiot proof you make something, a better idiot will come along! paul
  22. Alan go for the thruster but check your battery power. Not really frightened by the wild side but at 8ft 6in canopy up ( it's a pig to take down ) not many places to warrant 12 hours travelling up and back. As for Alan's advice of more weight just turn the hull into a beer and wine cellar, maybe even a keg of Wherry on tap. paul
  23. Hi Alan, liking the tale but you are putting me off the wild side! When I had an outdrive found reversing it like a car worked better ( lies ). Dingies are for kids and not for towing. We sometimes moor early but that because of the need for a liquid lunch and NO driving after that. Tell ma & pa we are down bank holiday Sunday for 2 weeks so hope to see them, we had intended going to the dark side but now!!! paul ps bow thrusters are like power steering no need until you try use it.
