  3. Travelling down the Waveney to Beccles this morning, Jill at the helm, when bang aloud noise through the hull. That sounds expensive my first thought then a quick look back for a large log! Just in time to see a rather stunned looking OTTER surface swimming in circles! It made the bank okay, but now the question is it aspirin or paracetimal for an otter's headache? paul
  4. We like Loddon but have never wanted to be at the of a river with a hour's journey before deciding where to go. Here 10 minutes down the cut then right for Surlingham/Bramerton and Norwich, left for the rest of the world! Although at 27feet the North Sea does look a bit daunting. Marina, gas, fuel and pump outs available here at Cove. paul

CO alarms should be a must if you have gas on board. Smoke alarms also. If a CO alarm sounds, wave it in the fresh air, if back in the cabin it sounds again get the H?LL out of it. You can not smell smoke when asleep so alarm! Co alarms should also be sealed so you cannot take the battery out. Safety should not be a cost cutting exercise. If your child/grandchild dies because you saved £1 is it worth it?????????????? Sorry to rant but I lost a good friend through him taking the battery out of his smoke alarm for disturbing his sleep. PLEASE you spend thousands on your hobby but how much do you spend on your safety. paul
  22. Heartily agree Strowager, Some people seem to turn every topic into a national park knocking. They need to get of their hobby horses and onto their lobby horses! Stop winging on here, become officials and fight it from within. paul
  23. Never touch the stuff unless it's boiled or fermented. paul
