  1. Aqua Light? https://www.herbertwoods.co.uk/boating-holidays/our-boats/aqua-light.html
  2. Hopefully everyone will be happy with what they see! Thanks for allowing us to do the job
  3. Less road walking though I’d say
  4. Went here when we were up in October, great pub and very friendly staff!
  5. I think this is the thing with the 'agencies' such as Hoseasons etc, they have access to marketing knowledge, budget and clout that an independent yard might not have. Search Engine Optimization and Pay Per Click advertising are quite tricky things to master if you don't know what you're doing, and can be very costly if you get them wrong. Granted with Hoseasons you are sharing the marketplace with several other yards, but the market itself is much more visible, ergo larger. Beds On Board was something I was going to mention as well, a great idea, but the uptake has been pretty small, so it's actually quite tricky to find one where you want one.
  6. When I worked in a motor bike shop whilst at uni we used to get a lot of 16-17 year olds coming in, never wore gloves. I’d say to them “why don’t you run down the road, then fall over and put your hands out?” They’d always reply “because it would hurt” to which I’d make the comment “if it hurts at 6mph, what do you think it will do at 30mph? Now, go and buy some gloves...”
  7. I believe the reason it’s called Air BnB is because it originated as a way for aircrew and cabin crew to ‘house swap’ on layovers
  8. I’m a big fan of GT85, smells much nicer!
  9. They are due on press this week, last week of the month is silly busy for us, as we print a lot of local magazines (the A5 things you get through your door) so they are on this week, after which they’ll be winging their way to JA, then onwards. It’s been a pleasure to be involved with.
  10. Hello and welcome, such a great variety of folk on here I’m sure you’ll find your niche!

    The Chase

Also, technically they’re wind pumps aren’t they? Not wind MILLS?
  12. I was amazed at how good the phone signal was this year, previously it’s been terrible, but I’m on o2, and had at least 3G pretty much everywhere on the Northern Broads, including previous black holes like Salhouse etc...
  13. Can’t wait to revisit the Lion and make our first visit to Neatishead and the White Horse next year
  14. Around £10k I think. A few years back my dad bought a red car from a well known dealership in the new Forest, I asked the salesman there how he spotted time wasters, was it shoes or watches? He said he didn’t, his reply.... “you don’t know who won the lottery last night” very nice attitude
  15. Having been the subject of a vacant possession order by a previous partner, and being forced to find a house very quickly that would accept my dog as well, I can sympathise with you. Hope all pans out as it should for you.
  16. Couldn’t agree more, when we were moored outside the Ferry at Stokesby back in October we went in and had a couple of beers, and even though it was very quiet on the rivers, we still double checked that they were happy for us to stay moored up to have showers etc
  17. Well, that’s destroyed any of the fantasy around your forum name for me now
  18. Horizons have been aligned (see, I do listen!) proofs are on there way to the powers that be!
  19. When ringing up to pay the balance on Omega last year, Barnes asked Ems the name of the boat we’d booked, having paid little to no attention to such things she replied ‘I don’t know, Boaty McBoatface?’ Which wasn’t met with that much enthusiasm, I suspect the staff may have had the same answer on more than one occasion...
  20. Pleased to say work commenced on the artwork for this over the weekend, and another couple of evenings should see it nailed, it will be then sent to the powers, hopefully approved without too many amends and we can begin the printing process!
  21. I noticed it was uploaded last week, then disappeared very quickly, glad it’s reappeared, something to watch this afternoon after looking at wedding venues (not for us I hasten to add!)
  22. Very exciting times ahead Robin, I know how excited I get when I get a new (to me) car, let alone a purchase of this scale!
  23. Like a very very low-rent version of Freedom’s pods!
