As of today, no cases in Norfolk, and I think one in Suffolk. We were due to visit friends in Sussex, and they asked if they could come to Norfolk instead (we said nođ·đ€)

Well, I was nearly right about it being on the Waveney

Dunno why, but I think itâs on the Waveney. Canât pinpoint it though. How about warmer or colder clues?

THE BROADS BOATING COMPANY LIMITED. "17 Mar 2020. Final Gazette dissolved via compulsory strike-off. This document is being processed and will be available in 5 days." Just came across the above (copied and pasted from Companies House). It looks like the end finally. I note the date is in the future so the document won't be available until then. Another one bites the dust, a shame, I thought they may have been able to make a go of it. Does anyone know if they own the site or is it rented? I assume the three (?) boats will soon find new homes. Does this affect Pedros?

We were there yesterday and can confirm the water was turned on and the hose connected.

Had forgotten about that - we used to go there as kids - fizzy drink and crisps (Smiths) in the carpark. đ„€đ§ââïž

Was that the Bridge Hotel?

About ÂŁ4 per day as well, based on last year, a bit more per day based on this year so far (since Jan) but I'm blaming the weather Hoping to make up for lack of boat time soon.

I have been caught once. I collected a new laptop from our local computer shop a few years ago. I was told to log into Microsoft to download office, previously it had always been provided on a disc. Googling Microsoft I clicked on the first offering in the list and a message appeared saying something had gone wrong, phone this number and they would help. They wanted to take remote control of the laptop to install office... then I twigged. Luckily no harm done, our IT guy changed the router IP and reset the laptop to factory settings. Lesson learned, check carefully the website you are logging into.

Aah yes, that just reminded me of a favourite spot that I donât think has been mentioned yet - Cockshoot Dyke. Have heard cuckoos and owls there - amazing. It certainly is not a quiet spot during the day, but sometimes itâs good to âboat watchâ and the fishing can be good at the far end near the closed off broad

Broad Ambition - Underway on the H2O

That must have been a heart stopping moment. Mine was a strong tide at Berney a few years ago. As a frequently solo helm, even though Chiltern Lady is only 28â, I am going to look into fitting centre cleats, I like the look of the folding ones. Hereâs to better weather soon. -
Based here in Norfolk we have escaped the worst and itâs really just been breezy and wet today - last night was windier and quite noisy, but so far no damage. I hope everyone else fairs well . Keep safe.

Now that's just what I was thinking

On Monday night I had a dream and alright I admit it was about a lady. The lady in question was, of course, Chiltern Lady. I was solo helming down the Bure on a strong ebbing tide in order to cross Breydon. I must have got my timings a bit wrong and arrived at Gt Yarmouth YS way before slack water. With the buzz of rushing past the YS at 8 mph on tick over, I attempted to turn at the yellow post only to be pushed sideways with both The tide and a strong wind (Ciara) on the starboard side. Pushing the throttle fully forward I managed to face the bow into the wind and tide. However, my top speed of 7 mph was not enough and I realised I was slowly being pushed sternwards towards the open sea. I dropped the mud weight with minimal effect on my progress. I wondered if it was dragging or maybe there was not enough rope to reach the bottom. How deep is it there anyway? The boat is not equipped with VHF radio so I called 999 for the coastguard⊠...What else could I have done? then I woke up.

Oops! Sorry about thatđ„Ž. Hope the buses work better .

Also try Brian Ward (sponsors of this site and they offer discount to members) in Brundall - always most helpful in the past.

Haha! None taken!
