  1. Hi I Blame the letting agents first! every year they try to get me to agree to up the rents, this year (June) they told me the retail property market prices have increased by 10% and would i like to increase mine by 8%.they dont appear to want to reward good tenants by not increasing the rent. Plus how can they substantiate that amount, it hasn't cost me no more this year than last year to rent them.just one of them has cost me £124=00 for four fence panels result of high winds . I suspect this tea room property will now be empty, the owner will now have to pay council tax on it, electricity meter rent plus water rates along with the likely hood of the property getting vandalized, all for being greedy. Its the rental market that is increasing prices.the ball then just rolls on. I will stop now before blood pressure rises Gr!Gr1. John

  7. Hi Rodger I would forget wind turbines get a solar panel this will charge 18/7 is your fridge 240v ac 12v dc gas ? do you have a battery charger/inverta ? you need to find out about these before you rush into buying things. You could well find that you will want to upgrade to a bigger boat so dont go mad and buy stuff that you wont want long term. A user hand book on the broads, a boat hook, is a good start along with checking that your ropes are long enough 1 1/2 boat lengths long, you will need 4. ref extra petrol cans remember you might have to walk some way to refill it, and only use super 5 grade not 10 grade. if you want advice on your boat suggest you make a inventory of what you already have on board, you will then get correct advice, just take your time and enjoy the new experience its very easy, just think before you jump. John

  17. If you dont flush your paper down the toilet is that because you dont have a holding tank? when abroad they tell you not to flush paper down the pan this is because they spreed it on the fields as manure and it has nothing to do with blocking the pipes. John

  21. Lets hope that this Russia war finishes soon as they supply 20% of uk's diesel (or did) other wise a panda geny supplying 220amps at 12v or 55amps at 48v using a 1/3lt of diesel an hour becomes much more viable for electric propulsion. John
  22. Hi Andrew We use 3 ply Sainsbury own no problems in last 11 years in our electric LeeSan toilet. John
  23. Thanks Edward for your reply wish you well on your choice it would be good if when you have had a chance to compare the difference in electric and diesel you will share your conclusions with us. As I intend to go electric with a dc generator and traction battery's on my next boat, i will how ever keep diesel heating as i think this is the way to go. BUT!! as i have never had experience of electric drive and any down side before it is all theoretical until i can proof different. Perhaps you can help with this. John
  24. Hi Philip Solar water heating on a 28ft boat is a no especially in winter battery charging for lights yes, as said earlier Oulton Broad Yacht station is your best bet, Cabin heating is cheapest with wood then diesel with water heating as a add on,Oulton has electric points but cost. There is moorings at Beccles bridge for high boats but no services. John
