  1. Ditto, loving the piccies and holiday tale please keep them coming Woods fit both smoke and CO2 alarms, the smoke one is very sensitive in the confines of a boat so could be that. The water pump may kick in occasionally but that would be more of a humming/ buzzing Lovely weather!!!
  2. Another pic, nicked from Twitter this time, Strumpshaw apparently
  3. Quite agree JF Forgot, another option in busy periods is to moor in boatyards. The likes of Herbert Woods and Faircraft Loynes are very handy and most of their own boats will be out.
  4. Oooo, er, need to find a pub without a TV!
  5. I suspect main problem is honeypot moorings, Horning, Ranworth etc Dinghy? Try arriving between 9.30 and 11.30? The great British public are very set in their ways. 8.00 get up. Run engine so all crew can shower. 9.30 - 10 set off. 12 start looking for a mooring near a pub. 2 - 2.30 set off again 5 look for another mooring near a pub. Run engine again. Or as JM says go South. As
  6. Agree with Simon and Griff sadly chances are probably similar to England winning the Word Cup It is magic through the Bridge though, dayboat worth thinking about? We've done that last few years, well worthwhile
  7. Not while there's dogs on the street
  8. Ah, seems a bit odd, wonder it's been blown and they've not bothered to replace it?? Could ring Woods and ask. Have a great time anyway, if the weather keeps like this you will be laughing
  9. According to Craig's site Forth Bridge 1 dates from 1989 (ex Harvey Eastwood) and 2 is from 1991 (ex Greenway and Anchorcraft) maybe slight build/fitout variations?
  10. Indeed there is. I'm sure that Carol would be interested too http://www.broadlandmemories.co.uk/index.html
  11. Yes, big thumbs up from me for Bridgecraft, excellent yard, they really look after you. Enjoy and let us know how you get on!
  12. Hi Dave Can't say for sure but last year's brochure listed it as 240v - I can't imagine they would take the inverter out. Herby Woods usually seem to fit 1400w inverters.
  13. I think you would be very lucky. However I think Herby Woods will offer a discount on a day boat if you are hiring from them. Might be worth a thought, well worth getting up there.
  14. Still are JF, particularly the Sussex ones Yes, the Wood Farm was good, very popular and had something for everyone. Shame it went.
  15. Yep, remember it well. We hired Falcon from Easticks at Acle. It was certainly thirsty work in the heat. All Watneys then I seem to remember so the likes of Wood Farm, Sutton Staithe and the Locks were a welcome oasis!
  16. We like piccies and updates! Have a good one
  17. Is this the Sea Scouts boat? Urgent Boating News – Vessel ‘Lord Nelson’ will be moved under tow from Norwich down the River Yare to Breydon on Sunday 24 June between 03:00 hrs and 10:00 hrs. Vessels must keep clear and follow instruction given by Broads Authority Rangers
  18. Assume there would be a 'capital' cost though Griff?? ie one off payment for a share of the boat?
  19. Not Broads related but one for Grace possibly? We've devised some racks for Mrs Nog's shoes (and even some spare for future acquisitions)
  20. Even if the Locks moorings appear full it's worth venturing down as there is often space at the end. There is also a section of grassed bank before the moorings start which could be used at a pinch. Pleasant walk from the Locks to the Wherry if you don't want to moor at Geldeston Dyke as well. Best of both worlds!
  21. Well they've had 95 entries apparently! https://mailchi.mp/3231d2c737d9/broads-briefing-june
  22. Moored there in May, only us apart from the Big Dog Ferry. I honestly think with that air draft you should get through without too much problem unless river levels are unusually high. From memory even at high tide you should 6 6 to 6 8. If necessary just moor up at the lido for a short while. Locks and the Wherry are both superb IMHO and we'll worth the effort. Forgot to say lido is a pontoon so easy mooring.
  23. There's quite a range of tide at Beccles, with that air draft you should be OK but as been said avoid around high water, even if it means a short wait. Booking moorings, pretty sure the Bell don't. I'm pushed to think of anywhere on the Southern rivers although I think Beccles and Oulton Broad Yacht stations may do? Having said that mooring is not so much a problem on the Southern rivers.
  24. Ooo, errr, thinking cap back on........
