  1. Thanks Grace Hi Tony, I'll have to be a bit brief at the moment as we're still on the Broads, but when we get back on Wednesday I'll try to dig out some suitable photos of the boat's interior. We hired Roamer from Swancraft at Brundle, who were a small family run business. The fleet was bought by Richardsons at the end of the 2015 season, so I can't comment on the boat under their ownership. Sorry I can't be more helpful at the moment, but if you leave it with me I'll do my best.
  2. It probably will be on hire fair regent is one of their winter boats (3 in class)
  3. Good luck indeed, we need pubs supported and thriving
  4. I would suspect the latter. however good news indeed. I have done the walk on the road many times, it is a bit of a hike, the footpath would be welcome in daylight but wouldn't fancy it tonight!
  5. We're on Humber Bridge which I don't think is particularly insulated for winter but we've been very snug even in the coldest days. Andys last comment is key - run the heating and the boat is warm and dry. we've had no condensation issues whatsoever apart from small amounts on the windows in the morning.
  6. That would be a great candidate for the calendar Carol
  7. Good points there particularly the issues Neil has raised. it's very interesting how perceptions vary. we are now in our 12th consecutive December on the Broads and almost as many February's. never had a problem heating on during the day pub in the evening double duvets at night and heating on again in the morning, snug as s bug
  8. They moored up outside the Hotel Wroxham - we were on the terrace having a beer or three
  9. Herby Woods don't hire in December sadly Monica
  10. Another vote for Audacity from me. does most things and user friendly too, even I can use it!
  11. Idyllic indeed. glad to hear that the rivers are empty................
  12. I think what Fred means is that private owners are more likely to be about November to March (as well as the rest of the year) while virtually all hire yards only hire for about 8 months of the year. Not every one fortunately................
  13. Sorry should have said - Swancraft no longer hiring (sob) but will do a refurb (private job Still have moorings and full boatyard facilities as Ian said (plug plug)
  14. Three have now gone to Bridgecraft and one to Swancraft. Hope to be down next week so I'll have a look.
  15. I'll second that. I've had no end of problems trying to access the Forum (still trying to catch up) and Jonzo has been really patient and helpful, very much appreciated
  16. Grrrrrr, grrrrrr, not been able to log on for quite a while, thanks to Carol, but no avail, this is on 4g (I think) but yes, Bridgecraft are superstars so hopefully all OK for December
  17. Don't worry about it Steve, it was a perfectly reasonable question. I follow Twitter (for my sins) so will keep an eye open in case anything crops up. Anyway take heart, if you had raised this over the fence World War 3 would have erupted by now This Forum is friendly but very prone to go off topic rather quickly
  18. Yep, fair point Lab, have consideration for our four legged friends.
  19. Shame this is Southern Broads Steve, but may be of interest for any folks who may be down that way
  20. That's an interesting one. I suspect if you booked through Hoseasons you would be covered. Most yards give plenty of notice when closing. Just thinking Alphacraft though. Now DRL would be a different story.........
  21. Don't worry, you asked the question in good faith. Perhaps someone should have a word with that Harbour Master though!
  22. We're often out in the winter and have seen the Horizon craft going back and forth from Stalham. They seem to be piloted individually. I would imagine if they were breasted they would have problems with Ludham Bridge. I suspect they are done in batches, I don't think they are all moved at the same time. But as usual I could be wrong
  23. Typical Enterprise. A burger bar. Good grief. Words fail me. Another pub lost to the community.
