  1. Crumbs I thought we were the only ones without passports. Son and family in Ibiza for the week, don't envy them one bit. Arrived the wrong room given to them, hassle at airport, thank you, give me the Broads any day. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  2. For us uninitiated - what is a reef please? Also speaking of posts. Why is there two lots + 2,663 in my case and 3,235 posts. what does that all mean please?
  3. We always found that if you stick to the top of the Ant there are lots of informal moorings in the trees and it always felt not quite as windy as being out in the open countryside. Paddy's Lane is a good option , you are off of the main river and it is a bit sheltered there. You will be fine. I am sure other people will help you as they have us in the past. I have just read Speedtriples post, it is almost identical to mine. Great minds think alike.
  4. Simondo said - Seems ok for me maybe a small outage Thank you for looking, I will try again. So pleased , yes everything fine.
  5. Houston I think we have another problem. Can you look for us please? Thank you.
  6. So its all round to your place for drinks tonight. Mine is Champagne please. Only joking. Well done.
  7. Adnams Girl - you and me both with the shoe gene. I cannot even remember the last time I went out in high heels. Just been and counted my meagre selection of footwear , 14 pairs of a selection of Winter boots, walking boots, sandals, flats, pumps, boat shoes, more flats and me dear old slippers. Oh it is good to be older and wiser. Edited to alter Adnams Girls name who I had renamed Adams Girl , whoever he was, wasn't he a lad at some time.
  8. Next Subject - The Phantom Crappers!!!
  9. I agree. I am surprised he didnt disappear from view completely jumping in. Did you read further down , there is a short video about an incident at Norwich Yacht Station.
  10. Have looked on Boulters web site but cannot see any boats for sale.
  11. Mores the pity the same doesn't go for today's schools.
  12. Well I know the heat has got to me. Announced yesterday I was walking to the Pharmacy and then to a parade of shops. Went out of the door , opened both gates, as if driving and I wasnt, then promptly went to the parade of shops first. I have finally lost the plot. I do hope you are right Vanessen that it is going to cool down. My other half is like a Bull dog chewing a wasp in this weather.
  13. We are just not used to it and are ill prepared. They keep saying it is cooler well not near to Beccles, even hotter today. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  14. Oh not white flags then. The war still goes on then. On a more serious note, are the bridges back open again.
  15. Do you think the bar closed then??? Or may one of them had to go to bed as it was family. Family can range from 0 - 100 these days in ages.
  16. So pleased we were no where near the two boats whose inconsiderate occupants were having the BBQ with loud music. Yes have a BBQ but why the loud music. Have they not realised that they are on the Norfolk Broads where we respect each other and do not play loud music. Everyone knows that someone can sneeze 3 miles away and you can hear it , so I can imagine the 'din' you had to endure.
  17. eddybear:- found your slimming world recipe and I will try next time. Although I personally like the Scotch eggs when warm and first cooked , I am not a fan of cold scotch eggs. I am going to go to Iceland and get some of the Slimming World sausages and try them next time. A good plus is no breadcrumbs so got to be much better for you all round. Thank you for the tip. Before anyone gets upset, this is not from Slimming World but was in Saturdays Daily Mail so ok for me to pass on.
  18. Dont wish your life away , it will go quick enough. Make the most of being young. The time goes so quickly once you retire. One minute you are 60 and the next approaching 80 years.
  19. Love your positive attitude. Well done on your new venture. All the best to you, may you have many many happy hours aboard.
  20. Thanks for that tip. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  21. I agree after making a fish pie , the aroma does linger somewhat. Such a shame Peter does not enjoy a properly made fresh fish pie , it is delicious, thank you for the recipe.
  22. I also made some fresh strawberry tarts this afternoon. They are just awaiting the cream to be piped on top.
  23. Dont really think that you would do this on a boat but you could make at home and they make a change from the normal run of the mill tasteless versions you buy. Pre: 15 min serves 4 1lb of pork sausages or whatever you like 4 hard boiled eggs - about 6 mins each egg. Bag of Panko Crumbs 1 egg beaten Some plain flour. Skin the sausages and make into 4 equal patties. Roll each hard boiled egg in flour to coat, place on sausage patty and shape sausage around egg. Dip each into beaten egg and then coat well with the crumbs. Bake in over 35 mins or until sausage meat is thoroughly cooked. No need for oil and all that frying. They tastes scrummy.
