  7. Hi Clive, "We say the opposite to the AA, its the boat which is covered, not the person.. Any new customers this month Quote NBN and we will donate £10 to the Forum for each new customer" This has got to be good news to any of the Northern Rivers based syndicates and other boats that are shared friends. Thank you for offer and I hope you have many new customers for you recovery service. Regards Alan
  8. Yes 1975/76 were the years of the droughts, locally Ladybower and Derwent water were very low and the foundations of the flooded village of Ashopton (these have been seen in later years of drought). Passage through locks on the canals was restricted and in some places locks were chained up before dusk. Regarding severe winters the very first I can remember was 1962-63, of course as a child we had snow every winter, 1978-79 I ran a Cortina estate then and used chains, these days I always put on my snow tyres. Regards Alan
  9. Hi Poppy, They just reserve that for Mars bars, I had one once in the Zavaroni fish shop on the Isle of Bute, it was very strange to say the least. Regards Alan
  10. Hi Roy, From your picture looking at the back of the boat that looks like White Moth. http://www.wherryyachtcharter.org/wmoth.php Regards Alan
  11. Hi Jim, If you are going to use ply, I agree with Alan it may be the best way to go, I suggest that you do use a exterior grade or marine ply so it does not delaminate. Regards Alan

  13. Hi John, That gives us food for thought, interesting using the bacon instead of bread to form the toastie. Cheese and bacon are amongst my favourite food groups, I think I would have added a bit of blue cheese and mustard in the mix to spice it up slightly. Regards Alan
  14. Here is a link to the LittleShips website, I will also put an entry to our listings for lease and hire craft section. http://www.littleships.co.uk/index.html Regards Alan

  16. We used to go to Bowness where we had a time share cottage on the Marina at the Winderemere Marina Villiage in the early 8o's they had a lot of the larger cruisers up to 50 foot. There was a ToysRus but the one that always got me was the one named "Igotitrobin" there was always far to many people up there swimming with gold chains for my liking. Regards Alan
  17. A number of you may be aware that I like woodwork especially carpentry. Here is a video showing you an antique German desk, I do not like like the overall style but the timber, finish and ingenuity that went into this piece of furniture has to be admired. https://www.youtube.com/embed/MKikHxKeodA?rel=0 Regards Alan
  18. Hello John, Please see the following list of pump out prices/locations:- Regards Alan

  21. Hi Roy, The important thing to remember from the BBC link (thank you Matt) is that you have to have your national insurance number handy as well as information off your driving licence. All that is missing is the Banks old faithful security check of your Mothers maiden name. Regards Alan
  22. Hello Slowhand, Welcome to the NBN forum from Tan & myself. Regards Alan
  23. Hi Martin, That was very interesting, I have not seen that before. Regards Alan
  24. Paper driving licences will be invalid from the 8th June 2015, it may be prudent to go online and print off your details that are held on file. Drivers who have both the photocard and paper counterpart are advised by the DVLA to destroy the paper licence after June 8, but to keep hold of the current photocard. Drivers with paper-only licences issued before the introduction of the photocard are told they will remain valid and should not be destroyed. My paper licence is in a sorry state, I guess now is the time to renew. http://www.edp24.co.uk/home/motoring/farewell_to_paper_driving_licences_1_4093646 Regards Alan
