  1. A friend of mine sent me this link to a realistic demonstration, sketching of a glass. http://www.flixxy.com/amazing-realistic-3d-drawing.htm Regards Alan
  2. Hi Grace, I am surprised that you read the full post with your hiding in the cabin at the first mention of Yachts. Regards Alan
  3. Hi Mark, If your light fitting are the G4 type lamp, call in and see Tanya or Nick at Brian Ward's they lent me a couple of 2.1 & 2.4 watts led inserts to try out which were best regarding light levels in each of our lighting zones. To save messing about we left the reading lamps and uplighters being as this only effected four lights, I think I changed 18 or 19 inserts in the end. Regards Alan
  4. Hi Alan, It would seem that there are a number of websites:- http://www.tingdene-parks.net/ http://www.tingdene-marinas.co.uk/ http://www.tingdene.co.uk/parkhomes/default.aspx It looks like they have their fingers in many pies Regards Alan
  5. Hi Mark, Can you explain why your control panel is stopping you from fitting LED lighting? Can you not fit led inserts into your lighting fittings? Regards Alan
  6. There is nothing on the Tingdene website as of yet. Regards Alan
  7. Hi Tim, Sorry to hear about Toby and your near fatal shock. Do you have pet insurance, I know my son and daughter in law could not survive without thiers. Regards Alan
  8. Hi Philip, Welcome to the forum from Tan & myself. Regards Alan
  9. Hi Steve & Deb, Where are you intending to fit your radio & speakers? We fitted our radio into our upper helm control and our speakers just under where your knees go when sat at the helm. I have got some pictures on my computer at home if you wish me to post them as an idea. Regards Alan
  10. Hi Iain, The chappie said the B.A. were being very fair, but bear in mind that we spoke to him now five weeks ago, at the time he was filling his time by doing all those jobs that you leave for sunny days. Another user of Danish Oil for his external woodwork. He told me of his plight as you do when moored next to somebody and you yourself are doing the odd maintenance job. The Broads Authority have given him dispensation because of his circumstances. As you said common sense used, after saying that I have thought the people in the tolls office do a very good job and are good at making suggestions to try and make the procedures easier for all concerned. Regards Alan
  11. Hi Howard, Did you speak to the couple that were in the metal hulled cruiser moored in your pictures. They have been waiting for weeks for the Mutford locks to be repaired so they can get to some temporary moorings on Lake Lothing prior to crossing the Channel. The B.A have given him leaway until the locks are repaired. Regards Alan
  12. Hi Iain, Stokesby another of my favorite places to moor especially if you can moor on the green. The low ceiling in the pool room at the Ferry Inn with all the cue chalk markes on it is something else. This was another pub that had an outside toilet/shower room; a few years ago we were going to make use of it but it was out of order because of swallows roosting in there. The current is very strong directly outside of the pub and many crews find it hard to moor up unless they can throw a line or two ashore. Is the candle shop still open or did it close? I remember it is somewhat of a trek to the the Post Office. Regards Alan
  13. Matt & Jon, I fully agree on the costs, we will be having our 30th week on the Broads in September since we first bought our share in Ranworth Breeze, we would have not have been able to have afforded the hire costs or would have had to reduce the number of trips to the Broads. We still have a sellable share in the boat but we will continue to visit the Broads until the times comes when we are unable, I hope that is no time too soon. Maybe when we retire we might get another share. Regards Alan
  14. Hello dnks34, It is good that you can operate at that level, but I guess you must also do a lot of your maintenance yourself. As Jon said our mooring fees are £2585 this year River toll £353.53 Insurance will be between £600 to £750 dependant on cover, we are looking at extra cover this year. Prop cover £60 Winter service this year was £3650 (we include all gelcoat repairs at this time) Season start costs vary but include new duvets, pillows protectors and replenishment of all cleaning materials correct toilet rolls etc. All fenders checked fender socks replaced if needed. The boat has to be ready for the first of my fellow owners for the first week in March and has to be kept in service until the first week in December so 40 weeks of allocations, we also allow our owners to take advantage of our out of season weeks if required. Southern Crusader operates for or used to operate 48 weeks of the year. I assume that the other syndicate boats such as Thunder, Moonlight Shadow , Lightning and the ones on the Northern Rivers have similar costs. Regards Alan
  15. Hello dnks34, I bet Jon wishes it was only £7000 the operate the boat per year. Our boat Ranworth Breeze costs us owners over £12000 per year to operate any nobody gets paid and all the management fee goes into all the costs involved:- Mooring Fees River toll Insurance Prop Cover Electric meter costs Winter servicing Emergency repairs when required Gas bottles Renewals We even undertake many of our own repairs including rebuilding bow thrusters, prop shaft rebuilding and machining, repairs to canopy and fixings (constant issue with most canopies), replacement of all lights to led, fitting engine bay auto extinguisher, pat testing, pump replacements, fan replacements, toilet kits or pumps fitted and other day to day maintenance. In 2011 when we were managed by a company it cost just under £20000 per year for me and my fellow 19 owners. Jon beat me to answering your question but I estimated they had 35 owners at one time they had over 40 owners. Regards Alan
  16. Hello Tippsy, Welcome to the NBN forum. We do like names on the forum it keeps it a friendly place. As you will already know there are a few syndicate/boat share groups on the Norfolk Broads currently at least eight and a number of other private boats that are shared by friends with hardly any formal contracts or just basic contracts in place. If you require any advice they are many of us on the forum that can help you. The price for purchasing the limited shares in your boat looks very good, I think however that you may have underestimated the running costs at £3480 per year. Regards Alan
  17. Hi Jon, I was chatting via email today with the person that has bought your June week. I am glad that the shares are selling, not too many to go now. Regards Alan
  18. Hi Ray, Alternatively if you wanted to stay on the Southern Broads. You could pick the boat up from Brundall and stop for the night at The Ferry Inn at Surlingham or Brammerton Common or at the Waters Edge Bramerton You could go up to Norwich or turn around and head for Reedham or go up the Chet to Loddon for the evening. It's a good cruise up to Beccles where you could spend the night in the Yacht Station. If you go to Oulton Broad usually there is the power boat racing on Thursday evenings and the Yacht Station or moored outside of the Wherry Hotel are both good places to watch it. Another good location to overnight ready for going back to the boatyard is Rockland St Mary. Regards Alan
  19. Hi Neil, Here is a link to the Broads Authority tide table information. http://www.broads-authority.gov.uk/boating/navigating-the-broads/tide-information We do have additional links to other tide tables in our forum information pages. Regards Alan
  20. Hello Ray, Welcome to the NBN forum from Tan & myself. You won't go far wrong with Silverline. http://www.silverlinemarine.co.uk/hirefleet/Elegance.htm Have a look in our forums for links for tide tables and distance charts. Edited to include deebee29 (David's holiday report). Regards Alan
  21. Hi Iain, The only time I have seen Womak Staithe empty like that is in late November & December. Through the pain I bet you were kicking yourself for having the accident on Thursday, the trouble is when we bang something these days it seems ages to get better, cuts to heal etc. It sound as if everyone looked after you including the pubs. Regards Alan
  22. Hi Roy that about all you get there, for years when on holiday at Hope Cove in Devon there only used to be one spot in the village that had reception the spot was less than a couple metres, if you walked across the road the signal was gone. Regards Alan
  23. Hi Neil, Pop into Brooms and see if they have a copy on reception or try at Tingdene reception or the NYA. Regards Alan
  24. Hi Roy, The only place that I find that you get minimum signal at Loddon is by the sign on the green just before you cross the bridge towards the White Horse. Loddon & Horning seem to be the only places where you get limited or no signal, I am on Vodaphone. Regards Alan
  25. Hi David, Jonzo was good enough to host the Bounty website/information within a section of the forums. Regards Alan
