  1. As JawsOrca says ouch! but this maybe your chance to get a lamp which is very similar to yours, it might be even worth getting in contact with them to see if they just have a shade that you can fit to a hardwood mounting block. https://www.toplicht.de/de/shop/lampe-leuchte-und-laterne/wandleuchte/aufbauleuchten/art-deco-salonleuchte-davey Regards Alan
  2. On a manual pump Jabsco toilet to fit a choker valve or even a new pump is not a long job, usually less than 15 to 20 minutes and you just need a screwdriver. Regards Alan
  3. We were the Trent and Mersey canal that year, lock gates were padlocked at 6.00pm to conserve water and passage was difficult in places, barge poles were in constant use. Water, boats and sunshine it gets no better. Regards Alan
  4. My guess being that Griff is a true Yorkshire-man he would have a coronary just at the thought of wasted tiles Regards Alan

  13. Sorry for the delay in posting this message, only just come onto the computer at home, it came in at 16.10 "Dear all, Further to my previous email Network Rail has informed us that Somerleyton Swing Bridge is now operational. Kind regards Tom" My guess is that if it is hot tomorrow then they will not open it until later in the day Regards Alan
  14. My understanding from one of our owners currently aboard Ranworth Breeze is that a small number of the NYA flotilla managed to pass through Mutford lock earlier today with the rest now stuck upriver from the bridge. The reason for going through Mutford lock is because Haven Bridge is also not operational. We can just scrape under the bridge at low water (airdraft 9 ft 8 inches with canopy and masthead down), our owner will be waiting until Sunday to have passage under the bridge if needs be at low water Regards Alan
  15. Dear all, We have just been informed by Network Rail that Somerleyton Swing Bridge is currently not operational until further notice due to the heat. 19. Hi Tim you can reserve the 2/3 moorings directly outside of the Ferry Inn at Reedham. I am not sure that the Bell at St Olaves is bookable. Regards Alan
  20. Update from the Broads Authority:- Dear All Urgent Boating News - Haven Bridge, Great Yarmouth is currently non-operational, and unable to lift for vessel traffic. Engineers are working to diagnose the fault, and formulate a plan of repairs, once the fault cause is identified. The timeframe for returning the bridge to operation is unknown at this time, however repairs are unlikely to be completed before this coming weekend (16 - 17 June 2018). This is due to the anticipated timeframe to source spare parts for a 90 year old bridge. This announcement is released today in order to provide maximum notice to vessel owners hoping to use the bridge over the airshow weekend, and to allow them time to make alternative journey plans. Should the bridge be returned to service prior to this coming weekend, we will issue an update as appropriate. Please note that road traffic is unaffected by this breakdown. 22. If you check out our links to the webcams, both Hickling and Potter Heigham show the dates and time stamps or our refreshing, the Herbert Woods camera number showing their rear moorings is shown as faulty at the moment. The boat in the picture at Horning has not got any further up the river for the past week or two weeks. A few other webcams are also out of date or will not connect. We will see if there are updates on these. I have noted that the Barnes Brinkcraft webcam is buffering most of the time. Regards Alan
