  1. Hi Matt, It depends on the boat syndicate, I often feel that the syndicates with 4 or more weeks suffer with selling their shares because of the management fees and not everyone wishes to use 4 weeks of their total holiday allocation for the year, unless they are retired or cutting down on their working hours. Regards Alan
  2. On Ranworth Breeze we allow owners to take advantage of any unclaimed weeks or weeks up the the winter service period or before the start of the season. Owners just ask if they can use the long weekends or weeks on a first come basis, they do pay a rental for these weeks which goes into the syndicate pot so everyone benefits. Regards Alan

  8. On Ranworth Breeze I fiited a standard 240 volt table lamp with a cigar lighter plug and bought 12 volt 20 watt Bus lamps for giving the boat that subdued lighting when watching the TV or we leave it on as a welcoming light from our return from the pub. They sell all the parts in Roy's DIY. Regards Alan

  13. Bow thrusters are great when you need one to fight currents pulling you to or from a mooring, they are good at helping with stern moorings. They are power hungry and draw around 200 amp plus dependant on the models fitted. We advise all of our owners to only use for a few seconds at a time. As already stated the new models do have overheating safeguards built into them. Regards Alan

  16. My take on this subject as in all things with life you never get anything for nowt! With all vouchers and coupon offers it would be better just to reduce the price slightly rather than all the prating about. Regards Alan

  18. There used to be an arcade (lets call it that, but in reality it was a 8 x 6 shed) that was at Ingoldmells near to the cafe by the sea wall in the late sixties. The cafe was good and I often bought fish & chips from the off-sales window, it was was of those places that had the salt & vinegar pots on short chains, these chains were so short that you had to move your food to one side and then to the other because the pots would not meet in the middle. It always tickled me as a child. The arcade owner kept the machines that were hung on the outside of the shed inside overnight, they were all of the flicker ball type machines, as you say they worked on pennies, I helped the chap during my holidays. The machines were mostly Allwins or Allwins Delux with the odd ones that you flipped a lever and the machine that had a disk on the front spun around. It must have been good business because within a couple of years the owner built a 2000 foot arcade.. Regards Alan
