  1. To the forum and boat ownership.
  2. I think it is wise to wait a couple of days for proper confirmation of the future of the two moorings before we all speculate too much.
  3. Dear all, A reminder if you are not aware that there will be high river traffic due to Three Rivers Race this weekend. Over 100 sailing boats will be racing on the Rivers Bure, Ant and Thurne from tomorrow morning. These rivers will be extremely busy, with certain pinch points possible at Horning (the start), Ludham Bridge, Potter Heigham Bridge and other narrow-width areas. Other vessels please be mindful of the high number of crafts on the river and be aware of sailing vessels tacking (zig-zagging) across the rivers. Keep slow and to the right-hand bank when amongst the yachts. 4. It has been in use, Saturday was the maiden trip of my brand new replacement outboard. I nice gentle run from Brundall to Bramerton and return was interrupted by the engine beeping a lot and faltering. I pulled over, checked the prop and oil, all good. I left it for 10 minutes to cool then slowly returned to the yard with the cover off. The yard had a similar problem with one of their day boats with the same engine on saturday. The senior engineer said it is weed blocking the water flow, me being sceptical said, we will see. Today this came past, maybe the engineer was right
  5. I just made the same comment but got told to put a fleece on, the wind has got quite a bite in it today.
  6. I did see you pass but was watching F1
  7. Hopefully coming up today for a week 🤞
  8. Broadsboatrenovation, on instagram. I think it was the last one from Brinks.
  9. I did look at the 4 poster style a couple of years ago with a view to redoing it to a twin cabin. It worked out uneconomic. The one that is being remodeled is interesting, some nice design ideas.
  10. Congratulations, Grandad is the best name I have ever been called, I never tire of hearing it.
  11. Hi Bob, I have never worried about name changes but always have a grandchild read aloud the recommended toast and splash a very small amount of fizzy on each corner. 😁 I still have the original configuration but need more berths for when growing grandchildren stay. I have a Shetland Family four that I double moor as overflow accommodation, the rangers refer to it as my extension. It doubles up as a runabout for a trip out or to the pub. The Nanni engine is the one it came with but it doesn't get anything like the use yours does.

  13. I know there are a couple of spaces, @FairTmiddlin will be along shortly.
  14. A different era, it looks so much calmer. A bicycle on floats, that will never catch on
  15. Having had £4500 of repairs to the Shetland outboards lower leg last year, funded by an insurance claim and lost 7 months use, On my last visit the outboard sounded noisy. The yard have looked at it and say the bearings are shot and it needs a full strip down and rebuild. The quote is £4700. The engine is a 60hp, far too big for the Broads. The cost of a new 20hp Suzuki is the same price as the repair. Guess what, The new 20hp is being fitted next week. I officially hate outboard motors. My next boat will have a diesel engine.
  16. Unfortunately, due to a host of commitments, I won't be able to call in for the day on Saturday. I hope everyone who attends has a great weekend.

  18. But if you moor and read the signs but disagree you have the option of leaving. The signs say funds will be used for the upkeep and maintenance of the site, I wonder what the costs are that are already charged to the tolls and where any surplus will be spent.
  19. No one has an issue with the disruption and safety precautions that causes.
  20. I suspect they will cause a lot less disruption than wild swimming, yacht racing and some of the rowers on the Yare.
  21. To put it into context, It is this saturday and runs from 9am until 2pm. Participants are over 18 and must aim for 2 1/2 hours completion with a maximum of 5 hours. This is not a newbies event, they will be experienced paddlers who have trained for the event. Why can we not share the Broads with other water users for the odd day or two., is it really only for boaters.
  22. This one is just in full bloom in my garden. They do make a nice early splash of colour.
