  1. I have a question. Is this really AI or just the result of extensive high level programming. Is any current program truly capable of independent conclusions that aren't the result of programming.
  2. Bear in mind sundays have a reduced timetable. It might be worth phoning Brundall Gardens Marina to see if they have a visitors mooring in the service basin for sunday night, it is only a short walk from Brundall Gardens station.
  3. Church Fen at Brundall although it can get muddy on the path up to Brundall. What dates are you looking at.
  4. Latest update. Dear all, NTM Update - The ongoing refurbishment works to Neatishead Staithe have been delayed due to unexpected delays in our work programme. The mooring will remain closed until 17 April 2023. Please find attached the new NTM. Boaters are asked to use alternative moorings at Gay Staithe, Paddy's Lane (Barton), Irstead or How Hill over this time. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by these delays. https://www.broads-authority.gov.uk/boating/navigating-the-broads/notices-to-mariners Best, Tom Tom Waterfall Senior Communications Officer Direct dial 01603 756034 Broads Authority Yare House, 62-64 Thorpe Road, Norwich NR1 1RY
  5. Little Mix on the radio, how embarrassing
  6. Todays problem was I have too many desks in the old study and I am moving it to another room. This is part of a resuffle of rooms and redecoration. We now have a 3 room newly decorated annexe that isn't needed after MiL passed away and a playroom full of toys that are mostly too young for the growing grandchildren. Any way, I don't need five desks anymore, one has gone to youngest son. What I needed was 3 desks and a printer stand / bookcase. I fired up the saw bench and reduced a desk to a printer stand / bookcase. I have nearly finished decorating the new study ready to move everything down to it. One completed, made to measure unit.
  7. Some travel insurance policies will insist you use the GHIC scheme if you have one and then only pick up the tab for anything over and above.
  8. Agreements are in place for medical care in Europe, this is still not a replacement for travel insurance, the same as the pre Brexit scheme. Search GOV.UK Home Travel abroad Apply for a UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) The UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) lets you get state healthcare in Europe at a reduced cost or sometimes for free. If you have a UK European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) it will be valid until the expiry date on the card. Once it expires, you’ll need to apply for a GHIC to replace it.
  9. The total has been revised, 31 hurt with 21 in hospital. It must have been horrendous.
  10. It was a scheduled server upgrade apparently.
  11. Twenty five injured, fifteen in hospital. That is one heck of a list, hopefully it is now stable.
  12. I have ended up needing the tooth rebuilding, Total cost is £130 including the original consultation. I don't think that is too bad for a private dentist.
  13. A friend of mine belongs to the Voice Project based in Norwich. They sing original works rather than choral.
  14. Dear all, Notice is hereby given that the second phase of works to Somerleyton and Reedham Swing bridges has been delayed. The previously advertised closures between 13 March 2023 until Saturday 29 April 2023 will now not take place. The bridges remain operational as normal. A further notice will be issued when a date for this work has been agreed. 15. It is difficult to form a judgment on this, There are some who won't pay and a few who can't pay. Local authorities have an obligation to provide a certain number of serviced traveller pitches, funded from council tax, do we really want that to come out of the toll account. The BA have a responsibility to collect tolls and it isn't for them to decide who doesn't have to pay, the courts decide how and over what timeframe the fines are paid. I suspect the CaRT and EA folliw the same guidelines. It is not uncommon to allow someone 9 months to pay before it is taken to court, a court date could take 2 to 3 months to be heard. My biggest concern would be a lack of insurance and BSS on these boats.
  16. I have had one of those telescopic ones with the plastic end for years. I have never used it and is only there to fish things out of the water (twice). It's main use is to hang cleaning clothes on to dry.
  17. I use a boiler engineer for all maintenance. He is of an age that he refuses to do installations. His view is that if spares are available it is ripping off the customer to replace the boiler. During Covid he was out of action for a month and I had to call a heating firm in for a breakdown on a rental property. New boiler recommended as spares not available, this was a 10 year old boiler. I would get a individual boiler engineer in rather than a local heating firm and avoid any firm with the name 'Swale' in it.
  18. Do we have any members who may know when Alans funeral service is ? If so can you message me please.
  19. I split a tooth in half the other day and have an appointment for monday. I had a check up a few weeks ago and he said it had a fracture, I guess it isn't fractured any more. I haven't found an NHS dentist with an open list locally for 20 years.
  20. No idea, sometimes fat fingers hit the wrong button and we then have to undo it. It hasn't been discussed by the mod team so would be an error.
  21. We have sadly just been advised of the sudden passing of our much respected fellow member. Alan was a moderator for so many years, dispensing sound advice to new mods as we joined the team. When the change over happened, Alan offered me great advice. Alan was the Chairman of the Ranworth Breeze syndicate, for over 20 years, I know how much effort he put into making it run smoothly. Alan will be greatly missed by the many people who knew him, either in person or online. As a group, we send our deepest condolences to his family and friends.

It is worth trying local phone repair shops as the buy used phones.
  23. A diesel is fine, it needs to be a more modern model, about two years newer than both my cars. ☹️ Just another reason to avoid London, if it can't be avoided I use the train and that is as rare as hens teeth these days. When I was working we refused jobs in London, too much hassle to park and then sending technicians up was always a problem. Blackheath was the limit, that was a goldmine.
  24. In 2029 I will buy a nearly new diesel car and hope it lasts me until I give up driving because, at the moment, the only electric vehicle I will ever drive will be an electric disability scooter.
