Boaters

Heard from a source at B A that there was many hundreds of private boat tolls unpaid ,surely they can’t take legal action against them all ?

When we moored in St Neots we were the butt of many jokes in the clubhouse about our Freeman having a “ wallpapered toilet compartment “ but the truth was the walls would have taken forever to restore, so we did some good sealing and applied a very heavy duty cork patterned Vynl wall covering which did the job ,looked good and was still sound some ten years later. We also relined the ceiling fixing it with a spray on carpet glue ,looked as good as our friends Freeman who paid £500 for theirs.Had the satisfaction of having done the jobs our selves.🤗

Interesting thread,still have my layout which is going up to the Grandchildren when allowed.to travel Spent two years as a volunteer modeller at Wroxham Miniature worlds ,very large layouts but could nut be done in the detail shown here,but building base boards ,track ,buildings ,mountains and animations was all great fun and have been running for a few years now.Well worth a visit

We have Sainsburys,Lidl and Waitrose here in North Walsham so use a mixture of all of them finding Waitrose " offers " when they are on very good value.also do notice that you see all store carrier bags at the checkouts ,I think shoppers are more Savvy now days.Using the " my supermarket " app you find that offers move from store to store with their promotions .

Did that stretch when we bought a boat fron Naburn and then brought it back to the Brovads .it originally came from Wroxham. Nice river ,but like the Broads best.Would not see much in half an hour ,for £40 ouch

Was in riverside today,and there are a few more boards not far from there that would improve the look of the area.if they were moved.

News that the dilapidated floating restaurant is hopefully on its way at last .What should it now become ,any ideas ? Some thirty years ago after friends had a week on the Broads with him ,we hired a Freeman 26 from a chap who also had some day boats in Beccles I only remember his first name was Jimmy.All went well till we could not get it into gear in Stalham .we phoned him and within the hour he turned up and fixed it.That was good until later when I realised that had he not fixed it ,then how would he have got us and the boat back South ? It was then I vowed to use a hire yard in future as I realised that I although we and the children had a good holiday.,I would not risk being stuck in the future ,with limited back up.

I would never consider it ,but the maintenance and breakdown response would make it a no no I would have thought.

Discussion on Radio Norfolk about a plan to place you inn touch with boat owners prepared to hire out their boats directly . The amount of arguments about the obstacles involved from The BA ,and othhers involved in boating ,not to mention the owner of the boats moorings ,could limit the take up on this idea .Would you consider doing this with your pride and joy ?

A birthday treat at Brands saw myself behind the wheel of Lotus Elise and then a Nissan GT-R and going at 120 mph the fastest I have driven 😊was an awesome experience ,but satisfied a long standing desire to drive a race track.Thoughorly recommended.I surpose a bash round Oulton Broad. In a power boat would be an equivalent water based experience!
