  1. Welcome and congratulations. Just done our 29th. Enjoy
  2. I have hired Swallow from Maffett next year that will be the second time. Would have been the third but it was booked when we were free this year. Excellent boat for what we want. Nearest we got to that when we hired from Richardsons on the northern was Broads Sunray and Suncharm. Same boats just a different layout. Again great boats. We have had great service from both yards.
  3. I am not too good with heights, but did manage to look over as we went across. Lovely view, but with no rail on the water side it is squeaky you know what time.
  4. Loved this as much as the first time. So funny. So well written. Thanks for bumping it up again Jill.
  5. I loved the dog. Enjoyed the rest.
  6. When they did the bank work on the Chet they dug out a small area on the left just before Pyes Mill moorings. I believe that may be turned into moorings. Not sure when or what the facilities may be. I expect they will be basic. Someone who is local may know more.
  7. Ok with all of these new Quiz experts around I wish to take the opportunity to get my excuses in now. 1) SWMBO likes company on Sunday nights so sneaking off to PC is banned, very difficult to type quickly on iPad. 2) brain has blank moments when trying to recall even the simplest bits of information and spelling 3) I hate coming up with the questions for the next quiz. I don't think this will be a problem though with all of the quick fingered experts around now. I do however love taking part in the quiz and find them to be very good. The background chatter is the best part though. A big thank you goes to Jill for showing me the ropes when I first joined.
  8. Jonzo. I hope you don't think that I was moaning about the software? just trying to give a little warning what could be expected. Less surprises mean less teddies.
  9. Thanks for the link. Had a good chuckle re one of the headings.
  10. I love the Southern Broads and find as long as you take simple precautions to check which way the tide and wind (if any) are travelling you should be ok. We have only ever been close to a problem going through GY. That was the first time back in 84. The yard had not given us any traing at all about the bridge height or times to go through. The yards are very carefull to do so now and a few minutes reading the forums, boat handbook or broadcaster soon sort that out. It is lovely down sarf. Take a little thought and enjoy. Well worth the trip.
  11. There was already a few problems with teddies due to the software induced delays of chat messages. Because there is no delay when you submit your own message it can show on your own screen quicker than the QM's screen where your answer has to go to the server first. On the QM's screen someone else could have got the answer there first especially if you have a slow link.
  12. They make it look so easy. Thanks
  13. Hey Iain.......how come I got the blame for that or is Watershed called Max?
  14. Hi Iain I have fond memories of that bridge. I stood in the crowd and watched the queen go past in her car the day she opened the one next to it. Found this link http://streaming.britishpathe.com/hls-vod/flash/00000000/00092000/00092779.mp4.m3u8 Sorry for slight deviation from topic.
  15. First time I would have been about 16. Mum took my friend and I for a week. We stayed in a houseboat in the Summercraft boat yard and had a small dingy with an outboard on it. Went everywhere fishing on it. Lovely holiday.
  16. Beautiful pictures Peter. Missing the place.
  17. Sorry Iain...wicked sense of humour. I would like to say that I had no idea it could raise the mods blood pressure when they read the title, but I would be lying. Promise to behave.
  18. Yes. Could not get used to it. So on Safari.
