jeffbroadslover
Just been getting my webcam fix and noticed that the picture quality is very poor. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just my PC ? Jeff
Gracie
Just had a look and it does seem a bit grainy and jumpy (not technical terms lol) so maybe an issue with the camera Grace
ranworthbreeze
Just had a look and it is somewhat pixelated my guess is rain on the lens may be the answer., most of these cameras have an heater under the lens to combat condensation on the outer glass of camera enclosure, so it may clear soon. BroadScot
I am with Alan on the theory of rain on the lens, failing that, its no wurkin awfy weel ! Iain

SwanR
It's been like that for a while. Some days it's ok, other days, possibly when it's windy and wet and there's more movement of the water, it's not so good.
BryanW
BB's camera has been like this for a few weeks now, I suspect that it is operating on reduced bandwidth at the BB end, my broadband operates at 50Mbps + so it is not individuals download speed. BuffaloBill
I will answer the question It is bandwidth. As we moor there I needed to find out the problem as we cannot, at this time, see our boat! It is to be sorted but I'm not sure when. Very soon I hope!! Hylander
I sent an email and had a very nice reply this morning from Sheila Scott. She is going to have a word with whoever deals with the web cam, so with a bit of luck we will not have our eyes going squiffy for much longer. Strange because when you first go into it it is fine.

Squiffy eyes, you need more tonic or water in it!

BuffaloBill
From an Email request today as to how long it will be offline:- "We only provide the camera, everything else is done by an outside company. I know they are working on it as there was a problem but I do not know how long it will be out of action. Sorry."
SwanR
Looks like it might be back up and running.

ranworthbreeze
I agree Monica, now if only we could get a camera back into operation at Oulton Broad. It would pay the management at the Wherry Hotel to find an alternative supplier, being able to see if a mooring on their moorings or at the Yacht Station is a bonus for all of us Broads users. Hylander
Not only of interest to us but surely it must be good publicity for the Hotel itself.
SwanR
The picture is much better quality again now as well. I miss the camera that used to be on one of the boats that did the river trips down to Salhouse and occasionally all the way to Ranworth. It was lovely to be able to see down the river, see how many boats were about and how many were moored at Salhouse through those months of sitting watching from home. ranworthbreeze
Hi Jean, Yes the camera on the River Boat was good , in its later use however all it showed was boats where it was moored. Another camera that was also interesting was the one mounted on one of the Broads Authorities launches. Regards Alan
