trambo
With so many statues under threat is it not time we erected one and I have just the spot. The rather bare area at the Wroxham bridge pilot point. I nominate Harry Blake for creating the popular Broads holiday and maybe Broads Direct could have one of John Lyons, Blakes' first yard, at their day boat reception giving Harry a wave across the river. Fred p.s. Subject to a full search of their political, sexual and nose-picking preferences.
Tempest
I think this would look great outside Roy's and keep the loud minority happy 🤣😂

CambridgeCabby
A bronze statue of Alfred and Albert Roy would be most appropriate in Wroxham

CambridgeCabby
1 hour ago, MauriceMynah said: Better if they put in Hoveton :-) True , I investigated a while ago why it was Roy’s of Wroxham as opposed to Roy’s of Hoveton since their Wroxham presence wasn’t until the garage opened as a Roy’s in 2011, I was told that when they first started in 1895 the goods were delivered by train , and in their wisdom the railway decided to call Hoveton station Wroxham station so the goods were addressed to The Roy’s Brothers , Wroxham station , Wroxham, Norfolk this was then was shortened to Roy’s Wroxham and it stuck . Whether that is true or not I do not know
FairTmiddlin
The original shop was opened in Coltishall So they did start in Hoveton 4 years later. Yes you are right about the name coming from parcels. History is Here https://www.roys.co.uk/history
