Must admit, I am not sure it ever was a windmill?? I seem to recall that originally it had something to do with one, but my memory lets me down. Someone will fill me in though I expect.

Given all the  talk about the BNP and misleading advertising, are you really allowed to sell something as a windmill if it was not one???? I suppose I should really consider writing to my MP and/or calling the local Trading Standards Office.....!!!!

It may be small, accommodation-wise, but the price is comparable to similar wooden structures with direct riverbank access.

Yes, the "windmill" aspect is tongue in cheek, but there's no escaping the prime waterside location in Horning.

When you compare it with similarly constructed and sized properties on Waterside's website, it doesn't seem excessive.

It is definitely not a real windmill, you can tell by the size. It may have been erected on the site of an old mill. It looks only to be a single story property, as there are no windows above ground level, in the central tower.

It is a lot of money, for what it is and would only be suitable for a holiday home or let. But I suppose it is in a well sought after location, so someone who has plenty of money to spare will no doubt snap it up

.

Let's put it this way. If I had won the lottery, I would have bought it myself by now, and also a nice modern cruiser to moor outside on the mooring jetty. Wendy would be in her element pottering in the garden, planting TULIPS of course, ready for the coming summer (you have to have tulips for a windmill).

Ah well, it aint going to happen, so we will just have to be content with hiring a boat for our holidays.

I saw a   :mouse:  WHERE!  :cat: There by the chair, RIGHT THERE!

My two ambitions in life have always been to win the Euro lottery and buy Hunset Mill, the first thing I'd do is rip all those Bug Ugly extensions off and restore it back to the way it was before, I'd also extend it at the back but using old bricks to try and match the existing building and bring it up to modern standards inside, I'd even get in specialist and see if the windmill could be made to work again, to this day I can only think palms were crossed for anyone to get away with converting it to the monstrosity it is today, one of the most beatifull buildings on the Broads is now one of the ugliest,,

Not wishing to disappoint you Frank and not wishing to reopen an old topic but you would not get permission, I suspect to restore Hunsett Cottage to the original as you perceive it - the bit on the right hand side was a later addition to the the original marshmans / mill cottage. The brick bit left now is the original and probably by even anyones standards these days standards, not big enough to live in.

( Sorry didn't mean to reopen this so just ignore me!!!!!! )
