Roy, hi. I don't know what your plans are for the week but the slack water times at GHYS don't look good for the North. If you could make Reedham on the 26th then it would be a following tide up the Waveney to the WRC on Sunday morning. There you'll meet at least a couple of boats flying the NBN Burgee (and you can get one yourself directly from me!). We're then going to Oulton Broad on Monday morning and will be there until Wednesday morning and then Loddon Wednesday late morning. Perhaps see you sometime?
Yes they are, Howard. They said they'd been in o for four months and with how it's going they are confident that they will be there next year too. I believe that they had a pub in Sheringham before.
We called in yesterday on the final leg of the Ale Trail. (Yes, we've got two full books!) Drinks were up to standard and the food we saw looked wholesome and plentiful. Sorry we didn't stop to chat, Alan & Maggie, but we had another two final pubs to visit. Ranworth Staithe had only one space at 12.30!
We had a very warm welcome from the new peeps this lunchtime. They have certainly imposed their character on the place and we were well impressed. They have a Polish chef and have tried to make their menu total different from the other three Yareside pubs nearby. In that they have certainly succeeded and also the traditional pub grub. We saw two steaks served and they looked very tasty. Now to the important news, Howard! Wherry at £3.30 a pint and three others, Spitfire, Trawler Boys and Jenny Morgan at £3.60 a pint. I was tempted by the Greenjack Jenny Morgan at 4.1%. I had to have another to make sure that my first impression was correct!u
A second Welcome Aboard, Warren & Julie as I was posting elsewhere when you just posted here. We'd like to hear a blog about your hols if you have time!
As Alan, (RB) said, Geoffrey I'd also get them to check the fuse... they're usually about 100A but they can and do blow occasionally. Whatever, Good Luck!
We also are having a lazy day onboard. Maybe cruise down to Thorpe or Rockland tomorrow. Do you know what NBY are charging for diesel just now, please?
I'm for the Ferry at Horning. We were there yesterday lunchtime and they've won their case re stern-on mooring for any boats. Despite pics of boats at the Swan, Gus tells me that it's only the Ferry, apart from the New Inn, that can moor non-dayboats stern-on.
