  1. Chateau Neuf Du Pape, I'm on board too and have spent some pleasant weekends with our friends from Lancaster imbibing said fluid and it's not unknown on Moonlight Shadow either.
  2. Hello Rincewind and a warm welcome to the NBN. I am sorry, I have to ask, Rincewind? What does it all mean!
  3. It is good what you do giving out this information Alan, keeping people informed. I know it has been said before, but I reiterate it. Have a carrot!!
  4. Hello, welcome to the NBN and congratulations on the new boat, hope you have a lot of good times with it.
  5. Morning and welcome to the NBN.
  6. Hi Steve and Deb, At Broom Boats petrol is available, but elsewhere it is not so readily available I believe. There are people on this forum that run petrol engined boats I am sure they will be along to tell you at some point.
  7. Nice pictures Peter, the light in that first photograph is fabulous, nice one.
  8. "The picture is of the landing place on Peel Island aka Wild Cat Island in Swallows and Amazons." Hello grudge holder Polly, that made me look at your avatar closer, I didn't realise where it was. We used to kayak there on occasion, stopping at Peel Island for lunch.
  9. My personal baptism was drinking Flowers Bitter in Stratford after getting there on the old Midland Red service and an Hogmanay in Musselburgh (Baile nam Feusgan) that was the best I ever went to. I used to like McEwans Export. I didn't really know the Gaelic, I was just checking I had spelt Musselburgh correctly and that was alongside.
  10. Well that got me interested Paul, I don't think I have ever heard of Bitter & Twisted but it looks a beer to try in the future, try it in Melbourne if I can get out there again, would be nice. I have just had a little trip down memory lane finding out where they sell it there.
  11. Arthur, I never noticed you slide in the door of the NBN but a very welcome nonetheless, I hope you enjoy our company as we will undoubtly enjoy yours.
  12. This be of interest. http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/509340/Norwich-voted-happiest-place-for-children
  13. "They used all 3 engines at sea and cut to 1 on the estuary and river to the moorings." A couple of years ago we were in Koh Samui, Thailand and it was not uncommon to see 30 - 35' cruisers with 3 200hp outboards, that would get the cheeks flapping I would think. Common place to see such cruisers with 2 200hp engines.
  14. Hi and welcome to the NBN. Hope your lucky with the weather and have a cracking week.
  15. Depends what sort of gateway you mean. Last week we were moored at Whitlingham and close to the mooring is a monument to the confluence of the Rivers Wensum, Tas and Yare (I must confess I hadn't heard of the Tas) the monument claims it to be sacred ground and has been for ever and a day because of that confluence of rivers. Phew! That was close, I nearly sent this out with monument spelt thus, momument, I might have got some stick for that.
  16. You get these Starlings forming around Runcorn Bridge, quite hard to concentrate on driving when it is going on, it is a sight to behold.
  17. "Norfolk as a whole is a magical place," That's a fair comment Watershed, there are places around the coast by the sea, there I've said it . Some of the villages are really nice and a place I went to had a really attractive church with twin towers, for such a small place it is a huge church, just cannot remember the name of the village. I believe the A47 around King's Lynn is particularly lovely this time of the year.
  18. 250 miles for us from the North West coast to the East coast, more or less.
  19. I am glad the spelling was correct!
  20. You are not alone Jimgibney, it took me awhile before I realised what the number was.
  21. Welcome to the NBN Charlie, I am sure you will find it very enjoyable. Hope you are in good fettle.
  22. Good evenng watershed, and a warm welcome to the NBN.
  23. That's clever verse Steve and very nice.

    Todays Picture

Nice pictures everyone and a good idea. "(I really must take that train trip on our next visit to Wroxham)." It is a nice trip John, I think you will enjoy it when you get around to it. Starting to get paranoid about typos now!
  25. Hello and welcome from me; re the Indian Summer, thus far the weather looks like it is giving it a go.
