  1. Jason is the ice cube expert I believe....is that right Griff?
  2. Very nice lines. My betting is that the one at Martham is the mould for our Whimp, 13'6" similar lines, made by NBY Co they made their fleet dinghy Ivy and a few specials from it.
  3. I read somewhere that the Queen's favourite drink is Dubonnet and lemonade.
  4. Sad to hear of his passing. Personally, my favourite line of his was 'Cancel Christmas' from Robin Hood. He always moved with such grace too.
  5. Marine Tech is excellent, I think. From the broad it looks like a small traditional yard, but behind the old frontage is a big modern business.
  6. NBYCo used to add withies to their mooring posts to hold the boats off the edge of the decking when levels rose above, as I recall.
  7. Maybe weighted lines running through a ring or strop on pontoon? I am sure I have seen arrangements like that?
  8. I always flush Brilliant with warm soapy water to keep the seals lubricated, usually once a day and always when packing up. Her loo needs respect!
  9. Stupid, short-sighted and poor business sense. I guess the agenda is to make the hire yards pick up the problem and federate as they do for moorings on non-changeover days. Privateers will need to dispose at their home base if they can...but I can't see how a cruise away from the yards/home moorings will be other than punitive if we are accumulating smelly rubbish over a few days. Do I want bags on board/in the dinghy attracting rodents? Well no. If I had small children it would be a deal-breaker.
  10. The Art of Coarse Saililng would have added a deceased cat at this point.....
  11. Congratulations Poppy! We are besotted grandparents, too, and loving it! James is two now and full of interest.
  12. Happy half century Tim! I'd say cynicism in this context is the natural state of the archaeologist, so you have merely brought your natural evolution to a greater state of perfection.
  13. I would rename her because Estrellita is her real name. She owns it. someone renamed Brilliant, 'Gannet' some many moons ago. Shameful to give a lovely lady an ugly name .
  14. Happy NewYear! BTW the French Resistance had Auld Lang Syne as an anthem, they never knew who would still be there next time they met.
  15. My thousandometer is spinning here, but what a lovely job!
  16. Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy and Peaceful New Year to you all.
  17. It's tricky, I do give to charity but choose carefully.
  18. I don't like it at all, shows how lacking in sophistication I am.
  19. Loved it from start to finish. Now what shall I do? Lol
  20. As a passive smoker from childhood (both parents were heavy smokers) and a teacher who often couldn't see across the staff room for smoke, especially during staff meetings, honestly (!) I find the freedom to smoke argument a thin one, I am allergic to tobacco smoke and my freedom to breathe matters more to me. Just saying....
  21. It's important to keep a sense of balance in the face of world events; so I hope Katy Dereham doesn't wobble on Strictly's final tonight.
