I think the standard should have objective measures attached. 3m depth x 10m wide channels across the navigation as a minimum for example, and where that is an issue eg. The Ant then the nearest width possible. Leaving this issue to opinion is unprofessional, I think.

The Virtual Pub is open tonight at 8.30, there will be a nice warm log fire. Mulled Wine and Mince Pies tonight on the house.

We have an induction hob tucked away on Brilliant in addition to a gas cooker. i use it when on shore power and prefer it to the gas hob. Why? 1 it's safer 2 it's cleaner 3 it's in a better place, Brilliant was designed for cooking in the cockpit, being a Broads Classic Saily, so the later addition of the cooker midships isn't as effective for work flow. The hob comes out and sits on a cockpit locker top.

Great that you have enjoyed your first taste of a lovely boat. Journey wise, you could consider Peterborough Wisbech etc as an alternative to Huntingdon. We generally grasp the nettle and do the A14, route sometimes stopping at Elveden for a nice lunch which sweetens the pill if held up in the mega roadworks.

Not the first Malanka intrusion either, as I recall. Would one of the ‘cubes’ Stuart recommended be a good idea for keeping watch? Correct me if I am wrong, but the work done on the river entrance makes it less secure that side? Maybe security fence at that end would help. We were in on Weds measuring Chameleon for curtains, there was no way to report in who we were etc.
