  1. Sorry Carole, it's not funny but that last sentence did make me giggle. My dads prosthetic leg sets off alarms in some stores and so far staff have kindly realised why and not approached us. When you think about it, we could make a ruddy fortune in stolen goods x
  2. Bless you Andrew, I think with all that you need a whole ruddy crew Joking aside, take notice of these guys, they know their stuff I hope you manage to get afloat this year x
  3. I'm with Marshman, I think it's Thurne Mill I took up knitting once, I knitted a scarf. I think I broke records too, I didn't know how to finish it off. It was one hell of a ruddy long scarf x
  4. And hence fourth the National Park made Alladin very rich. Alladin bought a big, posh boat and lived happily ever after on Lake Windermere x
  5. My deepest sympathies to you Alan, your mum and family. He was such a fighter for so long, now hopefully he can have some peace Good night, sleep tight lovely man Love Grace xxx
  6. Who is Mr Mannering? I put a laugh thingy to your post Chris but haven't a clue If you don't have an electric winch please remember to let go of the rope when you swing your mud weight out x
  7. Oh Alan, I am so pleased for you all. Send him our love and a great big hug to yourself , your family and of course your dad Tell him I'm missing winding him up about Arsenal and Chelsea Perhaps there are miracles after all or maybe it's down to your dad's fighting spirit, determination and the love of his family Loads of love to you all
  8. Alan, I have no words that will ease your families pain only that you are in my thoughts and I so hope for that miracle x

  10. Thank you Jaws for the update. I and I am sure the rest of his forum family will be sending everything in the way of thoughts and love to him and the whole family If he can understand, please tell him we are fighting in spirit with him and for him Love Grace xxx
  11. I don't think anyone could get you out of a pub Smogs, not in any way, shape or form A decent Angler who knows their stuff will treat the fish they land with care and return their catch to the water as safely as they can. We have a Carp cradle to lay them in once caught, proper soft and nice it is too. x
  12. Welcome aboard the forum You're passionate about the area, you will fit in here x
  13. The Broadscot Lounge Non Boat/Broads Related Topics and Discussions Nuff said x
  14. Ahem Ladies not birds. Birds have wings, ladies have......well you know what ladies have They were proper glamorous and tasteful too What a sad ending for such a beautiful yacht Thank you for that Turnoar, very interesting.
  15. I and my family are really just pleasure anglers and fair weather fisher people, we don't care what we catch although we do go for carp on our local lakes. Those lakes have Sunday matches and the amount of gear some of them have, I do wonder why they need all that stuff. All we ever take is rods, net, landing mat and bait and normally have a thoroughly lovely time. They must need that amount of gear for a reason, especially when in a match I suppose. Please could someone tell me why on earth the ruddy great poles that are cast practically to the opposite bank, just fish on the opposite bank x
  16. I never met Iain either but we did PM a lot, he called himself my on line Granddad, who wouldn't be proud to have a Granddad like him? He made an impact on my life. when I was going through trying times, he was there for me. I will never forget him I also would like to say how very much I agree with Helen, we have a brilliant team who go the extra mile and give us such a brilliant forum To Iain Our Pesky Mod To Uncle Mike Another true gentleman To Alan Another pesky Mod I had private conversations with and a complete gentleman. I don't think he was ever the same after he lost Tan, Hopefully, together again somewhere x
  17. A very Merry Christmas to our boss and team. Thank you for all you do behind the scenes to allow us a safe, fun place to be a member of I will raise a glass to our dear Alan and Uncle Mike, proper gentlemen for sure. I feel honoured to have known them through this forum. Thank you
  18. I have had this when mud weighting. You choose a beautiful, nearly empty Broad to have a bit of alone time then a ruddy great cruiser does the same and so close to you that when the boat swings round your boats are almost touching i am with you there Bucket, I have never dinted a boat, I've not hit a tree or lost fishing gear hitting said trees or anything Kate that last photo is stunning. Have a lovely day, I think it's going to be a sunny one x
  19. I think your glaringly obvious orange bathtub is a very lovely boat. I have holidayed on a couple of them and absolutely loved them. She's where she belongs, on the Broads Stay safe x
  20. Lovely smogs. Have a nice evening I don't know which pub but I thought it best to warn you there's someone in there with the exact same jeans, socks and shoes as you x

    Lifejackets

I've lost count over the years of the amount of people I've seen messing about on boats with no life jackets, children included. Hopefully, future newbies will read this, realise the importance of wearing life jackets and how it could save their lives if ever they were to find themselves overboard Well done Kate x

    Lifejackets

Goodness me Kate, I am so pleased you are okay. Thank you for posting, it really is a stark reminder about life jackets for always but even more important when you are solo If you wanted a swim, I find a nice indoor swimming pool, with life guards and a warm changing room would have been much better for you Take care and stay safe x
  23. I enjoy this forum for many reasons. We can discuss anything from boats to health but what I think is so important is the colourful, funny characters who are members These two posts sum it up for me. Brilliant x
