  1. Thank heavens for a sensible report, thank you Islander.
  2. I did think 15 mins from Barton Turf was pushing it a bit but thought you might be the ultra fit type and run all the way! 😁
  3. Did you check out Gaye’s Staithe? Often room there. A good walk to Neatishead from Barton Turf, built up a good appetite for a good meal no doubt.
  4. New one is rather different to the old one!
  5. Hope the news is good, no doubt we’ll learn more in due course. Sounds like the child fell from a moving boat.
  6. When we had ours, a couple of days before Christmas, it lasted for 4 or 5 days. Luckily we got reduced power back for those days, the oven worked fine (thankfully) but everything else was very poor - lighting etc. No heating because the circuit board had blown up, but the log fire did the trick. Our next door neighbours lost their power completely for the whole period.
  7. We had a similar experience to Speedtriple a few days before Christmas about 5/6 years ago. Also due to lightning strikes. We lost quite a bit of electrical stuff and took the opportunity of replacing all extension leads etc with surge protected leads. Well worth doing.
  8. I have also seen it in Massingham’s, the butchers in Hoveton.
  9. Maybe it’s just that there isn’t enough interest to show it?
  10. Somebody needs to say well done to England for beating the All Blacks yesterday so I will: 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 I was hoping it would be an all UK final but it was not to be. Commiserations to Wales but well done for reaching the semifinals. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
  11. Hardley Mill may also be available.
  12. Been around for a while now, certainly a good addition to the webcam list. They had one of those ground based advertising flags there all summer, it was a good indication of how strong the wind was. I see it’s finally blown away!! 😄
  13. Probably one on their website, you could even use their ‘contact us’ facility. I’m sure there will be one.
  14. I hope they managed to get some recompense from the hirers too. Well done Richardson’s.
  15. This is one of the reasons I am so much more relaxed in our own boat. I can change furniture covers as often as I like and I know exactly where I have to thoroughly clean in the event of an unfortunate mishap. They do happen, all too easily, and I always found myself on edge on a hire boat (and in cottages or hotels) despite keeping upholstery well and truly covered. I know others think like I do but unfortunately there are those that are quite happy to leave others to clean up after them. They are the ones who spoil it for other hirers and the result is that hire companies don’t want them.
  16. During our hiring days we always took copious amounts of towels and bedding etc for our dog. We also took a canister of Chem-Dry (dry cleaner) and associated cloths, just in case of the unexpected! More than once it was used. A £70 pet charge clearly indicates that a dog is not welcome. I think I would rather a company is up front and says it doesn’t want dogs.
  17. There is a Caribbean 42 mk111 called So High still around. Saw it myself a couple of weeks back.
  18. I did check a few times just to make sure!
  19. Well that’s quite a few Broads pubs solvent again. As long as they can keep going until the Nogs arrive, they’ll be well set up for the winter months.
  20. Flat on your back - again?? Tut, tut!
  21. Who said anything about fallen angels?
  22. Quite a few fallen angles I bet!!
  23. Welcome from me too. Expect loads of silly comments, it goes with the territory! 😁
  24. Cracking photos! Looking forward to more write-ups.
