When we had ours, a couple of days before Christmas, it lasted for 4 or 5 days. Luckily we got reduced power back for those days, the oven worked fine (thankfully) but everything else was very poor - lighting etc. No heating because the circuit board had blown up, but the log fire did the trick. Our next door neighbours lost their power completely for the whole period.
We had a similar experience to Speedtriple a few days before Christmas about 5/6 years ago. Also due to lightning strikes. We lost quite a bit of electrical stuff and took the opportunity of replacing all extension leads etc with surge protected leads. Well worth doing.
Somebody needs to say well done to England for beating the All Blacks yesterday so I will:

I was hoping it would be an all UK final but it was not to be. Commiserations to Wales but well done for reaching the semifinals. đ´ó §ó ˘ó ˇó Źó łó żđ´ó §ó ˘ó ˇó Źó łó żđ´ó §ó ˘ó ˇó Źó łó ż
Been around for a while now, certainly a good addition to the webcam list. They had one of those ground based advertising flags there all summer, it was a good indication of how strong the wind was. I see itâs finally blown away!! đ
This is one of the reasons I am so much more relaxed in our own boat. I can change furniture covers as often as I like and I know exactly where I have to thoroughly clean in the event of an unfortunate mishap. They do happen, all too easily, and I always found myself on edge on a hire boat (and in cottages or hotels) despite keeping upholstery well and truly covered. I know others think like I do but unfortunately there are those that are quite happy to leave others to clean up after them. They are the ones who spoil it for other hirers and the result is that hire companies donât want them.
During our hiring days we always took copious amounts of towels and bedding etc for our dog. We also took a canister of Chem-Dry (dry cleaner) and associated cloths, just in case of the unexpected! More than once it was used. A ÂŁ70 pet charge clearly indicates that a dog is not welcome. I think I would rather a company is up front and says it doesnât want dogs.
Well thatâs quite a few Broads pubs solvent again. As long as they can keep going until the Nogs arrive, theyâll be well set up for the winter months.
