  1. It wouldn't be much fun when you went to the filling station !!! lol Jeff
  2. I can't understand why a very experienced boat builder would decide to introduce a new boat which is going to have so many restrictions in where you can go with it. Surely with all their expertise they should be able to fit all the luxuries you want into a hull size which would allow the boat to travel over the whole of the navigable area. Jeff
  3. I think the wrap-around front windows look interesting. Must improve the forward view immensely Jeff
  4. I am wondering if Dr. Packman has applied to change his name by deed=poll to Dr. Packman-Trump Jeff
  5. The last time we visited Neatishead was 3 or 4 year ago on board Bolero (Richardson's version). When we arrived I could see only one available mooring which was right at the inner end. I decided that the best option was to reverse in so that's what I did. Using the gear lever without any throttle I took the boat in without touching any other boat. I do admit that I did use the bow thruster a little bit just to keep the boat straight. When we got right down to the mooring spot I turned the wheel fully to starboard and use a little forward throttle to swing the stern toward the quay then a short burst on the bow thruster brought the bow in. Crew stepped ashore and secured the mooring ropes......job done, switch off engine......then felt very chuffed at the round of applause from the crews on the two boats closest to us Jeff
  6. It seems that the guy was lucky that the ice was even thicker than he was. Jeff
  7. I agree with Grace. Where would we be without all the guys in the back room? A very big THANK YOU to them all. If it wasn't for you guys we might have to look at Faceache !!!! Jeff
  8. Sad news indeed. I did not realise there had been so many episodes of "Allo, Allo". Hopefully there will be more repeats and possibly" Till Death Do Us Part" and "Are You Being Served" as well. Jeff
  9. Hi Alan, I was wondering if the idea of naming a boat after Iain had been talked about in the Team Room and if this was agreed has anyone contacted his preferred boatyard? Jeff
  10. Hi Wussername, Just think of all the letters and forms to complete, request to the fire brigade to be on standby, insurance to find and fund, oh, and the cost of all the Sparklers you would need. Much easier to sit in front of the telly and admire someone else's hard work. Jeff
  11. Isn't it a shame that a member thinks ' I have some interesting information here to share with the other members' so they post it for all to see and be kept up to date on Broads Related Items only for it to be swung into a slagging match about something totally different. I see the heading "Royalls" and expect to read something relating to Royalls Jeff
  12. I think that it would be quite safe to say that wherever you go there will have been improvements made in the last 125+ years. The biggest problem with the Broads is how do you improve perfection ? Jeff
  13. Happy New Year to one and all. Here's hoping you all get what you want out of 2017 and stay safe. Jeff
  14. So sorry to hear your sad news Timbo My thoughts are with you and your family. Maybe he will be able to meet up with Iain and have a good natter about the Broads. Jeff
  15. Very sad news. Thoughts are with Iain's family. A great loss to the forum.......who have we got who is capable of keeping Grace in check the way Iain did? Jeff
  16. Having looked at the photos It looks like the cooking facilities are a little lacking. Also , does it have tanning lights in the saloon? Trying to work out why they have fitted an internal sunlounger. Jeff.
  17. Wish someone had got me a boatyard and a dozen bots for Christmas ! Jeff
  18. Wishing you all everything you would wish for yourselves. Have a good Christmas and hopefully a very good New Year. Jeff
  19. I seem to remember that Radiant Emblem had a separate drinks fridge when we hired it a few years ago Also had a useful outside storage locker under the steps up to the roof deck. It was a handy size for maggot boxes. Jeff
  20. Must be there ready for "dressing" in readiness for its Santa Cruises Jeff
  21. Hi Vaughan, Just to bring you up to date a bit, the area which the government created and called Humberside disappeared 20 years ago even though some organisations like the police and fire brigade still use the word "Humberside" in their title. Personally I was born in Yorkshire (God's County) but now have crossed the river and live in North Lincolnshire ( NOT South Humberside) as some people like the Post Office seem to think. We have broad shoulders up here so no offence taken. lol Jeff
  22. Don't blame me, I only asked if they could move the lifebelt !! Jeff
  23. Just been in touch with HW office and the gent says he will get someone to sort it Jeff
  24. Just tell them you are thinking of going to a competitor and see how quickly you get the response you want !! Jeff
