  1. Just heard that "FLOG IT" is being shown at 4:30 today from Norwich Cathedral. Thought some may be interested. Jeff
  2. I cannot understand why, in this modern world, if since the introduction of a 5p charge, supermarkets can supply a carrier bag that rips as soon as you put something in it, why can't Network Rail develop a tree with leaves that disintegrate on contact with a metal rail. ! Problem solved ! Jeff
  3. Totally agree that this is a brilliant idea. It would not only give us all another view to keep an eye on but would also give more insight to the broads for those who are still living in ignorance of the best area in the country. Sincerely hope you will be able to proceed down this line and that your business will be rewarded as a result of the effort and cash that you would be putting in to it. Please do keep us informed of your progress. Jeff
  4. Like the photos Poppy. Looks like there was plenty of water in the dyke..........did someone leave the tap on? lol Jeff
  5. I remember taking that "stroll" to the shop at Rockland a few years ago. All I can say is I'm glad it was all downhill back to the boat ! lol Jeff
  6. so sorry to hear your sad news. The only thing I can say is to try and remember all the happy and fun times you spent together. Jeff
  7. That would be useful when mooring places are scarce. All you have to do is "sit on bottom" Jeff
  8. Gracie you are doing ok but I will have to get my other half to give you a lesson or two. Lots of things that she has bought because it's that time of year are already hidden in paper parcels.!!! ( I have nothing to do with it) Jeff
  9. Last time we moored on Fleet Dyke we saw quite a few people walking their dogs along the length of it right up to the Bure. Hopefully one of them may see Lulu and be able to coax her to safety. Jeff
  10. Thanks for that Alan. I've already studied that but just wondered if anyone had any first-hand experience of the boat. Jeff
  11. We are thinking if booking Crusading Light from HW for 1 week next year. There will be 6 adults and 1 one-year old. Has anyone ever hired this boat and/or got any info worth knowing?
  12. Makes you wonder what would happen to the BA if the likes of Richardsons, Barnes, Faircraft and Herbert Woods were to decide pull out of Broads boat hire because tolls were too expensive and the extra costs could no longer be passed on to the customer. What encouragement do the hire yards get to increase their fleet, whether that be building new craft or buying older ones from another yard? Jeff
  13. Hi Iain, Hope you enjoy every minute. Have you made a mental note of where the fire extinguisher is ? lol Jeff
  14. If the date is Americanised then the photo must be of it being launched rather than retrieved Jeff
  15. I hope they are not going to try using that photo to claim on an insurance. Check out the date on the photo ! Jeff
  16. Could it be an Eastern Counties bus? Jeff
  17. Hi Robin, I read through your thoughts with interest. My wife has a question for you though.......WHERE'S THE HOT TUB GOING? Jeff
  18. In 1964, 3 days after leaving school, I started work in the same office where my brother worked. I started as a junior on the post desk earning the princely sum of £4 for a 40 hour week. I remember my brother complaining about how much I was being paid. He had started on £3. 5s when he started there. He did not take into account the fact that he started 5years before I did. Jeff
  19. I would go with the new Inn at Horning. It,s the only place I can think of that has/had houseboats across the river from a pub Jeff
  20. Just trying to imagine how a boat can sustain such damage if it had run aground ! Looks more like collision damage to me Jeff
  21. Obviously not all their boats are in.......I can still see some water! Jeff
  22. Likewise Sue Gave up a long time ago Jeff
  23. I wonder if they used the pilot to go through the first time and thought "it looks easy, I could do that" Jeff
  24. Good idea but I can see at least two ways they could maybe jump ship looks like it's well wrapped up Jeff
  25. I imagine it would be difficult to moor alongside after about 3 p.m. lol
