Imagine coming down there and having the local youths passing you on their skateboards ! Jeff -
At least that "pesky mod" managed to keep it under control and on the tarmac ! lol Didn't I see him in a starring role on "Road Wars" the other night ? Jeff

Just been watching the Peregrines webcam and it looks to me that things have been happening. I think there seems to be at least a couple of chicks keeping warm. Anybody else noticed this? Jeff

Didn't notice your name at the front of that list Gracie..... Jeff

Just been having a snoop around and noticed that we are about to welcome our 1000th member ! Is this a good enough reason for a party? I know that certain blonde female members do not need an excuse but thought that others might like to join in. lol Jeff

Questions that come to mind are:- 1) How much did it cost to install these begging boxes? 2) Did the BA get planning permission to put them there? 3) How much does it cost to have someone go around ( probably in a vehicle supplied by the BA) to empty all the foreign coins and fag ends that are dropped in the slot? It sounds to me that at some time in the future the BA will be saying " Because we don't get much income from the donation boxes we are unfortunately going to have to increase the tolls by an extra ?%. to help to pay for the moorings. Iain, I understand it doesn't make any difference providing it's wet and there is plenty of it Jeff

Iain, I heard a rumour that that she is now on special medication. They say she should be o.k. when the shaking stops. Jeff

First time I've read this wonderful tale. Going to read it again in a few minutes ! Brilliant !!! Jeff

Congratulations on getting Hurricane back in the wet stuff. Good to hear that she appears to have no damage and can proceed under her own power. Jeff

I can answer the question in one word.......NOTHING !!!! Jeff

Just wondering what reaction you would get if you shopped at let's say Roys and then go back to the boat, unpack everything, then take all the EXCESS packaging back to the customer services desk at the shop Try explaining that they should dispose of it as it is classed as commercial waste which originally came from their commercial premises !! Looking at the brilliant photo from Stowager is that one of Porter & Haylett's cruisers in the background? Looks a bit like Kimiline to me , but I could be wrong . Jeff -
I think it is a very effective anti-theft device. lol Jeff

Many, many years ago my headmaster,( who was born and bred in Norwich) would always preach to us about litter. He would always say that " In Norwich where I come from you never see any litter anywhere" When I started to visit the broads a year later I was amazed to find that he was right. In the market area there were litter pickers and bin emptiers coming round every 15 minutes. Very impressive!! Since then it seems that every worker in the Council has their own individual Manager, hence the fact the Councils are now saying they do not have enough cash to pay the worker to do the job they were employed to do !! To put it bluntly, get rid of most of the "chiefs" and let the "Indians" do their job !*! Jeff

Thanks for that Clive. Just proves you can't believe everything you read in the press !! lol Jeff

For me the broads can supply whatever type of holiday you want. Hustle and bustle , seaside beaches, or peace and tranquillity. A changing scene every two minutes even if you are moored doing a bit of people watching. I always tell my friends that on a broads holiday you learn how to relax Jeff

Clive, I wish you well with your latest acquisition . Should be a good move as both Fineway and Geo. Smiths have always had a good reputation and always been busy. Does the deal include the shed and adjacent parking space? How many day boats / picnic boats do you now have including Moonfleet ? Jeff

The way Clive is spending money in Wroxham/Hoveton I am wondering if ROYS is safe !! lol Jeff

Really good idea, or sheer bloody mindedness?

The thing that confuses me is that if the roadway is not for use by any mechanically propelled vehicles what antiquated type of horse-drawn emergency vehicles are there available locally? Space was apparently left for emergency vehicles to access the area . They would then be committing an offence unless they switch off their engines and the crew get out and push or they have a horses waiting to tow it. Jeff -

I can understand that there is a wish for an open view of the river from the green but in this modern age I think that the word "compromise" has been lost. I cannot believe that there are great numbers of people who want to sit on the green on a night to get a view of the river especially during the winter. Why can't the parish council come up with some sort of "compromise"? Restrict waiting times during the summer months but allow parking during the winter months. I wonder if any consideration was given to blind or partially sighted people before installing this obstacle course ! If they want to put planters along there then by all means do so but position them towards the side or on the edge of the grass so that there is still access to the roadway even if it were to become a pedestrian only zone (during the summer) Jeff -
Hi Maxine Good to have you here ...... welcome Jeff

So sad that you have had to make this decision Jason. Hopefully you and Sonia can start to relax a little Any chance of finding someone from your mould to take over the yard and maybe involve you as a part-time consultant ? Best wishes to you and Sonia for the future Jeff
