  1. Just looked at the Norfolk Riverside Cottages web cam. There is a guy there outside of his cottage enjoying a beer in the sun. A bit intrusive to say the least for people hiring those places dont you think? I have done my best to disguise him.
  2. Beach - beach !! Well I hope they have their winter combs on. As per usual the heat wave seems to have decided to do a swerve from up here in Norfolk especially on the coast. No nude sun bathing today, the wind is chilly and very strong.
  3. And without the hire industry the Broads would soon go into decline.
  4. Well lockdown does not seem to have affected the pratt that was racing up and down last night on a very noisy motorbike for over an hour up and down the by pass near to Beccles. The last thing I or anyone would want is for anyone to die but these things do happen and as has been said it is a personal choice.
  5. Would have loved to have seen this. Next time it is around , not in the middle of the night please can you let us know. Fascinating.
  6. Oh well I can get rid of my Dona card now then. I have always carried one. May be now a lot more folk will get to lead a better life thanks to Organ Donation.
  7. Would love to send this on but it wont let me copy it.
  8. Having just celebrated my cough reaching the ripe old age of 5 years I am always nervous if I need to cough. So not all coughs are anything to do with this wretched virus.
  9. How wonderful nature is. Despite this god awful virus, sitting and watching the garden, flowers still bloom, birds still nest and have lovely fluffy babies , vegetables are coming on. Good old Mother Nature.
  10. I often , well before we were locked down use to use that Coop a lot. A bit on the pricey side but at Christmas etc when the other stores were heaving I always felt the Coop was the better option. Plus they have quality goods most of the time and at least you could easily get parked. At the moment I have a small amount of SR and P flour and have been grinding down porridge oats to make wholewheat flour for making cakes. It makes perfectly good gluten free flour if you have a blender or the like to whiz it down to a fine powder. Well thats it, now where did I put that bottle of Port. Cheers for that.
  11. Can I ask what is Flour? If you can find any perhaps you could inform Sainsburys and Tescos. I have been trying for 6 weeks to buy with my on line delivery SR flour. I mean, how come there is no flour. (creamer gives me gout) , that is no creamer , that is Port.
  12. This is the reason that Richardsons are so successful. We have shifted our booking until 2021 , it will be my 4th attempt to get on to Reflection, first cancelled by the Beast from the East, second hubby was very ill, thirdly its Covid19, so roll on September 2021. Enjoy your holiday. I think all of us will appreciate our holidays even more now.
  13. Not long to wait though only until next Wednesday.
  14. My son who is a keen fisherman said for fishing at night solely participating with the sport it ok to night fish. we had the ok from the Angling Trust yesterday eve. you can go camping at mo, Edited to say - he fishes on lakes.
  15. The night fishing one is a real quandry - Can't stay on your boat overnight but after June 16th you can do so if you are fishing? - You couldn't make it up Griff Trying to make sense of that last sentence. Does that mean that hire boats will be allowed on the rivers?
  16. No facilities or water , water ie river is there with the use of a mop and bucket and the loos , well David was never very keen to open them anyway so nothing new there. A pee in the bushes it seems the order of the day.
  17. We would have been going on Reflection from Richardsons tomorrow and looking at the weather that has now gone like winter , just as well we are not.
  18. Now that is more like it. I personally would not want to live out of tins for a week. Especially if you struggle to get the tin opener to work - hm!! Robin!!!!
  19. One weeks meals on a boat... how basic can you get.... well here goes. Baking potatoes - tins of chilli - grated cheese - 1/2 lb butter for the spuds. Large tin of Heinz tomato soup, tinned of new potatoes , tin of vegetables of choice - chunky bread - more grated cheese Fray Bentos Pies or Puds , home made chips (made from baking potatoes , cut into chips, par boil , baked in oven with a dash of oil, and baked beans Tins of chicken supreme - Basmati Rice (the boil in the bag type) Large tin of ham - eggs and home made chips again. 5 days and if you are staying for 7 then I am sure you can find a shop to serve you with fresh whatever you fancy. Long life milk. All very mundane but none of it needs a fridge or freezer, except the butter needs to be kept in a fridge.
  20. I see looking at the web cam at Gt Yarmouth that folk are on the beach. Mind you I cannot see that they are doing anything wrong as long as it is one family. Trouble is one does it they all will, yes, well until tomorrow when we will all be freezing our bits off once more.
  21. Flaming Norah Gal dont ring us we will ring you. Sounds like a cat yowling.
